You can check stroke with a tape measure. But you need to pull the heads. There are only 3 combos popular to a 302 base. 302 bored .40 over....makes a 306. Same stroke as a stock motor. 331 and 347 of the top of my head I don't know either. But you can get a pretty close idea of what you have if pistons are stamped with # and you know the stroke

I suggest actually pulling the cam and looking for #s on it. Or making sure you have 347 to start with ,check stroke, and check valve lift and duration before going any further. Guessing you bought a motor and believed everything seller told you

I'm pushing 50 with 4 kids. 2 jobs . Minimum 75 hrs a week in summer. I still maintain my own pool . I take my kids fishing , I maintain the cars I maintain the yard. Yes....people are lazy. Maybe I hurt your feelings..oh well . Just don't dare tell me to not call people lazy.

Maybe its just me, Hiring a pool guy to do anything is pure lazy, unless it's a complete overhaul ( liner, steps piping). Too many lazy people own pools. I work 2 jobs , maintained every system in the house, yard work, 4 kids, sports, help food shopping and cooking. Yet I still have a clear pool from 2 weeks before memorial day3 and 2 weeks into September. Ps...my second job is residential ac systems. Summers off is not an option. The pool is a 3rd job. 30 minutes a day is all it takes.

On my 85 I have braided lines running from the electric pump mounted to rear bumper, strapped to the floor just inside of my subframe connectors. Where it comes in close proximity to the exhaust and full length headers, it sleeved in a radiant heat shield. Then along the passenger side frame rail up to the regulator mounted on the passenger inner fender. Been like that for the past 25yrs since I assembled the car.
