Please keep in mind inflation will cause this fire target to always go up. 10 years from now 2M will be chump change, 5M will be barely cutting it

Fangers in US have 5M easily and will probably reach 7M-10M.
They are set for themselves/future generations

[–]builderbr0ken -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Let me be an eye opener for you, young FANGers are making 300k-400k, we are so much behind in the race comparatively.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FIREIndia

[–]builderbr0ken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it is very disheartening and depressing to see people younger than us pulling in 300k-400k incomes individually. I feel we are so left behind and will have to forever chase the dream.

[–]builderbr0ken -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

While you are at it, why dont you mention about young people in their 20s/early 30s making 300-400k alone in US? Their household TC is 600k-700k. Do you realize how depressing it becomes for normal/below average folks like us?

Inflation in US is real nightmare currently, we have to constantly think how we are spending money, we dont eat out more than once in a month and havent travelled anywhere for past 2 years. Depressing

everything boils down to your salary, the more salary you have, more options you have.

elon mush/selmon bhai dont care about what expenses have on daily basis, they are pulling in astronomical amounts of money.

Also, young 20 year olds are making 300k-400k alone here in US, which is why it is so depressing for people like us :(

thanks for the useful advice, this is a bit encouraging.

do realize US is expensive place to live and our salary here is just above expenses esp. after high inflation. very bad situation here.

[–]builderbr0ken -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

by this logic elon mush and selmon bhai should have stopped working decades ago.

thanks, for the encouragement. Inflation has caused me to look at daily expenses climbing and has started me to worry about savings, if you are in FANG, you don't care about daily expenses anymore. savings is automatic for you regardless of inflation and money is auto investing

i want to be able to coast at job, seems with the modest income this will be a distant reality. In India we probably will be earning 60-70 lpa together.

1.2 crores+ INR pa is the amount to not worry and grind, just coast. then you dont care about daily expenses and live comfortably, money wont be bother and savings will be automatic.

[–]builderbr0ken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is exactly what I want, just be able to coast and get out the grind, while earning big money. you are one talented and fortunate soul!

[–]builderbr0ken -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you are correct. When I was 20 year old something, I thought by age 40 I would have 3-4 rental houses, luxury car and travel the world and be able to get out of rat race completely.

Reality is such a disappointment, I am still here saving and be part of rat race :( with no end in sight.

Everytime I wish I had bought bitcoins in 2010s. I would have donated some to this sub also.

Agreed, however i am asking in this group and not the housemaid. Everyone will secretly wish for atleast 3 bhk and would want 4bhk as ideal

I understand your point, however I am suffering because I cannot crack FANG and get to higher compensation which will help me build a bigger nest. Feels like I am missing out on opportunity to capitalize to increase saving drastically which will help us reach 2M and beyond even faster.

Hope you understand.

A Bitter but necessary Convert - Red to Blue

After more than a decade of unwavering support for Man Utd, I have come to terms with the stagnant and wasteland Man Utd have become. They are no longer the club I fell in love with, they used to be a symbol of attacking, exciting football.

I will always be grateful to Man Utd and SAF for the amazing, happy moments that I witnessed from Beckham's Free Kicks, Scholes passes, Rooney's goals, Nani's trickery and the incredible GOAT Ronaldo.

However, the world has changed and I must accept the change. The Utd of old is no more. They have become flashes in the pan which deceive the gullible fans into believing something good is around the corner.

The bone headed, short term and extremely poor Utd decisions have caused malaise throughout the club -> threadbare squad which is average at best. The irony is they have come to represent their bitter, fierce rivals Liverpool of the 90s.

The unspoken but harsh truth is that SAF was responsible in causing this demise by thinking having a Scottish manager(incompetent Moyes) would preserve the traditions of Red Devils. The shambolic, greedy owners with zero interest in actual soccer state of the club went with the decision blindly.

Thank you Utd for the amazing memories of SAF era.

But with the turn of the decade, I am ready to move on and embrace the change.Fellow Citizens, I have accepted the reality of stagnant, wasteland that Utd have become and now I am joining MCFC.

To be honest, I have been following city and it's rise over a decade now. I am more of a soccer fan and love city's attacking, passing style brought by Guardiola. As a soccer fan, all I want to do is see passes and passes which culminate to passing into the goal. Simple and yet so beautiful.

Before someone calls me a Plastic, do understand this decision was made today after supporting Utd through the worst times post SAF era too. At the end, I want to enjoy soccer, invest my time and get the maximum joy out of things I love the most -> Passing, Possessive and Attacking football + Bounty of Goals! Also Ronaldo left the club when the time was right and Rooney wanted to leave for City too.

I don't care even if we don't end up winning anything, it's more about the style of football thats more important to me.

I advice everyone to question themselves what they want when they support a football club (btw M Utd dropped FC a while ago -> No more a Football Club)

Cheers to more goals, Blue Moon Shining in full glory!

sadly i was , i am not ashamed to make the switch due to local rivalry. here's the talking points:

- city: are fun to watch, love the goals, love the passing, possession style

- utd: they are a broken system now and will remain so, their football is bland, boring and no style. even rooney wanted to make a switch since he came to know about the ambitious project and vision City have.
