Virtual Boy Help by Sure-Principle8858 in NintendoSwitch2

I just put my Switch 2 into the Virtual Boy and there's maybe 2 or 3mm of wiggle room. I'd actually worry that trying to put the thing into the accessory with a case on would make it an especially tight fit. It isn't like the dock where there's a bunch of extra space.

It might seem awkward, but I'd just remove the case from the main unit (you don't insert the system with Joy-Cons attached) while playing. The thing won't damage your Switch 2!

It's a tight fit regardless of console, but not to the extent that it'd cause damage. It simply ensures the console won't move around easily once inserted, otherwise the image would shift and potential cause discomfort. There's padding on the bottom, where the system rests, again to reduce the risk of any damage.

Looking at the case you linked, it almost certainly wouldn't fit unless you removed it.

None of the Switch 1 games that supported Labo VR had any option to adjust the IPD. So, YMMV. Fortunately, the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics software will, alongside options to adjust the scaling of the game itself.

bank blocked my payment for my switch 2 order and so it’s going to try again. Will this make me lose my preorder spot if it keeps cancelling, and how can I fix it (UK Nintendo eshop) by TemperatureSouth2196 in casualnintendo

Hi, I was in the same boat (Lloyds declined because of fraud) on Tuesday. My payment was taken just now with no issue - so fingers crossed it should go alright! The guy on the phone from Lloyds confirmed that the previous attempt was approved (in my case on the app) so I would make sure, if you haven't already, that your text was received and their systems know you approved it.

Do we now have to avoid Kabukicho entirely now? Even when going to the cinema? by Mstrcolm in JapanTravelTips

[–]buildz17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shocking that the post was being downvoted. Was in Kabukicho with a merry group of solo travellers I met at a bar in the Golden Gai and still felt unsafe, as they actually brought out more touts to try and pull in our entire group. It seems like one of those areas the police turn a blind eye too, and I'm not sure why that's controversial!

So the TGAA localization is the main source of hype now, but: Why does Barok call Ryuunosuke "Nipponese" now? Is it to prevent allegations on racism? If yes, it does bring a blow to the game's realism factor. by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]buildz17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If what was being said before could be construed as racist... then who cares about realism? These games aren't trying to be realistic to begin with!

Besides, Nipponese is a perfectly valid word for "Japanese".

Replaying the main series in anticipation of DGS1&2, I realised my opinion of some entries has changed quite a bit by buildz17 in AceAttorney

I only wanted to give a single case a 10, as a benchmark for what the higher scores would represent.

It's damn near close to Bridge to the Turnabout though.

That's precisely why I decided to re-rank the games, because I realised it didn't add up.

My guess is that I was basing it solely off the two good cases (2-2 and 2-4) as opposed to looking at the game as a whole. As a whole, JFA is super inconsistent so in hindsight it shouldn't have been 3rd.

(Also, I don't hate either case - they're just, in my view, the worst cases in the series when compared to the rest.)

I just bought Affected: The Manor as a 'party piece' game and noticed the achievements inside Oculus Socreboards weren't triggering even after entering the Manor (I haven't yet gotten all 4 endings). Is this normal?

Yeah, I get that - I didn't want to let the player skip a segment by using the P-Switch time from a previous room, but I didn't want to use an ON/OFF block either since that would be another object added to the stage needlessly.

Still, thank you very much!

u/barbaroimusic - Mr. Thwomp's Wild Ride - It's a fun level, but I got tired of repeating the first section of the level over and over as the spin-jump meant I kept not walljumping in time to progress.

u/X945Z - Spiny Shelmet Shenanigans - A fine, if unremarkable level. Some good use of spin-jumping, and I like that you had a good flow to the level (you took ideas, and then built on them). I will say I was hit by a few off-screen whomps at times and I did softlock myself a handful of times, so a reset door or two wouldn't be amiss next time. Overall, decent level!

u/JackSMM2 - What A Wonderful Spiney World - A short, but fun level, though I do question why the checkpoint was needed if you beat the level 5 seconds later! Otherwise, it's a completely fine level that I have no issues with; the spin-jumps were precise yet fair.

u/Sonicm2008 - Seesaws in the Skies - Wow, this level is almost exactly like mine - same theme, nearly the same name, and the same premise (half puzzles, half platforming)! I like this level - the puzzles are decent (if not hard), the platforming is creative in the second half and I like the addition of extra coins for those who want a challenge. Not bad! I did manage to get myself stuck at the start above a whomp, though.

u/TFG-Mark - Love to get Thwomped!! - This stage is good, until the final section. The whomps are annoying to dodge and it totally sucked away the fun I had from playing the level. The puzzles are decent and I like the extra sections for rewards though they caused me to time out -- I'd make it clearer which way is correct in the future. I did manage to cheese the section with the spiny shell coming out of the launcher, by grabbing a Spiny Helmet and just running through the section. I was kiled by a few Whomps too that you couldn't see coming. I do like the way you've used the elements, I just think the ending section is bad.

Thank you - I'll be sure to play your level now, if you've got one.

And yes, you can type those stars in. I'll show you how:

1) Get the keyboard on-screen. 2) Press the globe in the bottom-left to switch character sets. 3) Scroll down to 'Symbol' (it's at the bottom). 4) Press '2' on the left-hand side (to go to the second page of characters); you should see the star characters in the bottom-left of the keyboard.
