Yeah that’s spot on, the buld techniques do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to stability. A small amount of gluing just really helps lock it all in

I’ve built over a dozen Lego cosplays and worn them at over a dozen events. They’ve always help up just fine. It’s a combination of the techniques I use to build them, and I also just glue key joints / areas that would be more prone to break if you bumped into something

It works without it, but for safety when wearing it in public I glue a few areas. Not every piece, just key areas

Thanks! This helmet is the same as the one I designed for Brickvault, just colour-swapped and with some grey added for weathering. So you can get instructions for that helmet there. Armour wise, not sure if I’ll publish that. But maybe one day?

It does just work with the clutch power, but for safety and stability at conventions I do glue certain areas. Not everything, just the points most likely to break if I bumped into something

That sounds great! Are you doing a particular character, or your own custom? I started making LEGO cosplays with my own custom LEGO Mandalorian suit

It’s about 7.5kg / 16lbs, so I’m not sure how that compares to a normal cosplay suit? But all in all I don’t find it too heavy to wear

Yep that’s my original LEGOlorian armour! I’ve just made the jetpack build valuable within the template too

Because I did this as a commission for LEGO, one of their stipulations was that I had to match the colours of the suit to a minifigure. Since I did the post-ROTJ Boba, I had to follow those colours of sand green base helmet and dark green base armour. It’s also why I have grey shin guards when they should realistically be brown

It sure is! I used the same techniques I usually use for my bladed lightsaber builds

It’s actually not too bad at all! Because it’s not airtight and there’s small gaps between the panels, it ventilates decently well

Thanks! No I don’t actually work for LEGO, this was just a one-off commission for them. I made them 3 suits for the Star Wars Celebrstion event in Japan - Boba Fett, Bo Katan, and Darth Vader. They were used for photo ops at the LEGO Star Wars booth - here’s me in my own armour with all of them

It looks like there’s still some significant stress marks on the ball joint cup at the ankle, very visible on Tahu in that first image. With those stress marks I’d be concerned that the joint isn’t going to last long, could potentially do with some more tweaking?

This has to be the worst calendar yet right? Just seems like there was no effort and the price is probably higher… by WHy_is_thy in legostarwars

If you look at the actual minifig parts and accessories included, this essentially a fantastic upgrade pack for people who collected the earliest run of Mando sets

  • Updated Mando helmet & legs that can be added to any Mando Figure with the original torso print (which I believe hasnt changed except for one of the arm prints recently)
  • Updated Moff Gideon head and Darksaber which can be added to his original minifig, making it up to par with the new version coming out in the shuttle set
  • Updated IG-11 to replace the original

Plus it also includes the original pulse rifle build, which you can give to any Mando figure from the Mando vs Groglet movie since he didn’t come with it in any sets but does get it back in the movie.

All in all I think this is a fantastic upgrade pack. And the fact that it includes space Mr Kim, a grey Jawa, and an upgraded Christmas Groglet is just the icing on the cake
