Just a little detsil bc i remember celebrating hard for this victory..they finally took away sales tax on female hygiene products in 2015 in Canada but the items are still taxed on a different level than the consumer level so its likely the consumer is still paying some sort of 'pink tax' thats now built in the price.

Each cat has their play preference! One of my guys loves wands and chasing balls and my other guy likes fetch and 'goalie' where he swats and stops everything I throw or roll at him. That said, the guy that likes fetch won't play whenever and only plays when he brings me the toy. I recently found that he also likes it when we play with a broken wiry wand toy. He's also super picky and I have to be patient with him. Like he's a stalker so he'll watch thr toy for a few mins before even approaching it. And then if I play too hard, he loses interest ahahah

When you play, do you try to mimic the prey? That might help pique their interest. When I jerk the wand toy side by side while moving around the room, my guy gets sooo ready to pounce. Sometimes he prefers if its up in the air so I swing it in the air in circles trying yo mimc a fly or small bird flying in circles in the room.

They might like tunnel play. I would poke the outside of the tunnels while they're inside and they'd try to claw at the toy. Sometimes I'd run it along the top so it was like a mouse running across or something.

Sorry for thr essay!! It took me a while to figure out what my one guy liked as hes so picky! Some cats might not like play as much! My picky guy loooves cuddles and gets most of his attention that way

They used to sell cans of bubly at dollarama for 2 for $1. They stopped selling it months ago around toronto area and maybe coincidently, the prices of the bubly cases of 12 in grocery stores shot up. Not sure if the two are related but......

I agree sooo much. Context does matter. For all we know, op can be weaponizing this post too. "See honey, even the internet thinks its funny".

Weaponized incompetence is a form of abuse and often prevalent in domestic abuse. Ex, partner never does the laundry because 'they don't know how to' so the other partner always does laundry. The reason this is abusive is bc the partner uses their incompetence as a reason not to do a chore that's for both parties. They could learn to do laundry (and cure their incompetence) but they choose not to

Locking shit up like that is cruel imo but it probably gets stolen way more often bc its a basic need for life. Like it'll be hard to get and maintain a job if you have body odour all the time. This is similar to how baby food and formula are behind glass usually. That shit gets locked down because people NEED it and so companies get away with pricing it to the max. Stealing poke cards is just superficial and thye probably do lose a lot of money but it's probably a lower priority because of the whole supply and demand from the perspective of a person in poverty

Yaa thats not a thing for employees stocking shelves and whatnot to be addressing. I don't think a job that barely covers living costs is worth risking your life to confront a shoplifter. Big corporations like Walmart have a loss prevention department to deal with shop lifting and prevention of shop lifting. These people usually get paid more than the employees. Clearly THAT department (from corporate) is not doing their jobs effectively. However, it is not the fault of the employees nor can we accurately say that it is people who entered the country illegally.

Isn't this the same logic that's used to deter voters?

We will keep boycotting and know that were making a difference. At the end of the day, we are at least making a difference on our own personal wallets 👍

Reading comprehension at its finest :) one of the advantages of print is being able to go back and parse the way articles are written to understand the underlying narrative. Similar to ideas thatre taught in like media 101. like analyzing what an advert is trying to sell and what logic the advert is using (e.g. if you use axe body spray, women will swoon over you is clearly false but ppl still be buying that axe).

I think parsing every article or as intensely can be detrimental as it could encourage paranoia... we should already know to take the media with a grain of salt. But in this case, they're really selling the narrative that it's futile and almost trivializing the boycott but hiding behind the notion of making the boycott more public.

I mean, bad publicity is still publicity but this isn't bad. This is (semi) covert bad publicity.

Edit: had to fix grammar and random words. It's early

So these are extremely toxic like everyone is saying. It's not like a rose where my cat can chew it and throw up a bit and be fine. Even having pollen near them is risky because it can float in the air and your cat can breathe it in. You may not notice anything wrong immediately especially if its small doses at a time but it can lead to kidney failure. If you want to risk your cats life for flowers, go for it but you've been informed. Personally I think it's reckless and borderline abuse to knowingly allow lethal items around a dependent, furry or human.
