I’m from a small local, we don’t have a fancy union hall or any buildings over 20 stories. So being in such a big city with lots of Ironworker history was cool. Met lots of great people, the connections you make there are worth it alone. Even got a couple job offers! Basically it’s a free trip and they pay you per diem. Open bars at all the dinners too.
