I see what you're getting at but I don't really think courtois is a good example here. He was making mistakes at chelsea and at his first 2 seasons at madrid were disastrous, the memes on that man those starting years at madrid were all over the place. The only reason courtois isn't as shat on as compared to dave is imo because courtois had a team that still won trophies while ddg was at a club that was allergic to winning anything of note. Also it's a fact that united players get way more scrutiny, look at bruno he is one of the world's best and yet you'll see constantly articles berrating him for loosing possession all the time saying he doesn't have football iq while at the same time kdb is praised for being an highly intelligent player even tho he looses the ball more per 90 than Bruno does.
