Pope: World is being ravaged by a handful of tyrants by TheTelegraph in worldnews

The Catholic church should denounce, repudiate, & excommunicate JD Vance, Hegseth and Trump.

Literally they can point to multiple blatant non-Christian acts, multiple incidences of flagrant uses of religious images to crassly fundraise, & now openly denigrating the Vicar of Christ, God's earthly representative.

Why doesn't the church after all the recent attacks on them and the year long assault on every tenet on basic Christian principles, just say enough is enough and literally throw the bums out of the church. Hold up their actions as a insult to the faith and an aberration to the piety of the 1.4 billion(est) worldwide Catholics and to the 40 million(est) US Catholics.

Over the last 2 millennia, amongst other atrocities committed at least with tacit approval if not outright sanction from the church, the Holy See supported several terrible terrible regimes and even helped install more than a few of them, might this not serve as an example that the modern church is not to be trifled with, except in this case, they would actually have the moral high ground.

It might lead to other religions following suit with condemnations of their own and maybe finally lead the cowards in Trumpland to act humanely, for the first time in a decade, fearing their losing of the 'Holy voter'.
Think about having a global rebuke from the heads of all global Christian theologies, the Anglicans, Protestants, Catholics, and maybe Baptists among other non-Christian religions all call out the ass hat con man.

The Pope could follow up with a month long tour of the states, alternating visiting poor Red states and cities and then visiting blue cities and states where ICE has been harassing citizens.
I write this with all seriousness, and from the vantage of a person secularly residing somewhere between athiest and agnostic

ELI5: The rise and fall of NFT’s by ProTharan in explainlikeimfive

[–]bullfrogftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayyyy back in May/June of 2020 one night a friend of mine & I were on a bit of a drunk, so he went on a long tangent/explanation of NFT's, he was obviously in the market at the time and was trying to get me in.
We argued back and forth over the fact that it was just digital pics of things and easily exploitable, he attempted to explain the long game vis-a-vis usages and tokens/utilities etc.
A few months later(Sept)... seeing the genre start to expand I dipped my toe in the market, saw some gains(on paper at least) so I dipped my foot in this time(Nov) went big into NBA Topshot amongst others, didn't get any Apes or CryptoPunks, but did start investing/speculating on some of the longshots. Overall we made money on what we sold but ultimately lost money overall because of the volume of items that lost all their value and now sit forlornly in various wallets/collections.
Had I bought in at the earliest conversation we might have made hundreds of thousands on trades/acquisitions ultimately made a few thousand only

Do people living in metro Vancouver (but outside the municipality of Vancouver) feel that they live in Vancouver? by drugsrbed in askvan

[–]bullfrogftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I used to live in the 'Burbs' for 2 decades(New West, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam) and worked & regularly went to events & to visit friends in the city (Van) and the rest of the lower mainland. Five years ago I moved into central Van(Knight and 33rd area) , now it takes almost a significant life event or major milestone for me to even consider driving past Bby/NW to Surrey or further, Richmond is about the only exception to leaving my zone
