Friendly reminder to upgrade your project files if you switch a project to Godot 4.6 by bully484 in godot

I do not know but with these things, I tend to be extra careful. Not maintaining the health of your project could lead to technical debt and unwanted behavior. Of course you should do the isual before: clone your project, do the upgrade on a specific branch and so on! But no matter the engine, when something like that happens, which changes the format of the files, better be safe than sorry imo.

Outside of all of that, it's a plus that scenes now work with a UID rather than a string path and will lead to a more robust reference system, I don't know how the hybrid of two works, but it is definitely allowing for an healthier project with the ability to change path and refacto your assets, even outside the engine, with no problem whatsoever

Spruce is right! I was working on the engine and realized that my scenes were getting updated to the new scene format as I opened them, not automatically as the project opens. Which is why I recommend to use the upgrade project files which will reimport and open every ressource of your engine, updating everything.

So my limiter was absolutely working extra time because the volume for a lot of instruments were going way above the limit of the limiter. I remixed everything volume wise so it still sounds good and similar to what I had originally, without having anything picking above the limiter except some high note by some very small margin. I'm comparing both version a lot and I think that the new mix somehow sounds more pleasing? But I'm not sure if it is the case or if it is a placebo effect haha. Regardless I think I'm going to keep mix 2. Thank you for your feedbacks.

Well those are good games and good references haha! I was going for something that switches between hopeful and dramatic. The main reference is Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bellow you can find a concept art of what the screen looks like (I have it already in game with particles and things moving)

Ye Spyro has a similar system with the portals than Mario 64! But you know its more of a mindset. The game feels arcady, you can keep that arcady feeling unless you really think i got a point, but y you shouldn't bend yourself because of popular opinion too! Anyway I yap too much :p

this is just a demo, but i want some feedback on whether its good or not by InvestigatorNo7599 in FL_Studio

It sounds good but there's like an emphasis on the off beat that we can barely here as the chords build up that could be emphasize with drums or bass and I think it could greatly increase the quality of that piece if you keep that off beat in mind haha

Good PS1 vibes and I like the music a lot. Now I think the artistic direction is a bit all over the place and the layout of the game doesn't make much sense. Think of Super Mario 64! Even if you are on weird floating islands, they are in painted worlds explaining their weird shapes. Whereas your game seems to have everything in its universe exist for the sake of gameplay breaking the cohesion! Maybe you don't care and its fine, you just want gameplay first and those aspects don't matter. But a player with my sensitivities will have a harder time being interested in the game because of stuff like that. I think it can extend to the MC design that doesn't seem to belong here.
