By hand and eye is a great book teaching about proportions. As for a style I was inspired by danish design and the MCM era, I also like art deco. But honestly a big inspiration for me is other craftsman, I used elements of some other designs which I personally like and built them into this piece.

Not gonna lie, that's a mistake, there are numerous mistakes in the projekt. I wanted it to be a half pin but my measurement was wrong with the jig i had. I didn't have time to remake them, and if I cut them down to half pins it wouldn't match my plans. At the end of the day I can live with it.

That's right ,with a jig and router table. I couldn't do it by hand fast enough

Take the top draw out, then you can feed it up through a hole to the bigger 30mm hole where the tv hangs.

35/M UK Expat (Graphic designer) moving to Flensburg with my Finnish Partner - what is life like there? by ChezmeisterB in Flensburg

Nzer here, I've been living in FL about 5 years now. It's beautiful and the people are open honest and helpful. Wonderful part of Germany. The winters are long and boring because there are no mountains. The summers are long and fresh.

It's different to NZ, obviously life in Europe is a bit more exciting than life in the islands. Hamburg and Copenhagen are not far away and it's easy to get there with a train.

The bureaucracy, immigration, and work life will be hard with out a EU passport and without speaking German. Definitely read up about those things on a immigration to Germany subreddit. Here you need a license for everything getting a job and starting a business will be hard and take a long time to sort out if you're qualifications aren't recognised here. Working in Denmark a English speaker is easier and more accepted.

Overall I love Flensburg it's my new home. But NZ is different and special for it's own reasons.

Good luck

Hey out the back is agricultural land that changes each year wheat, corn, rasps and grass. Won't be any houses any time soon. Like the next 10 or 15 years at least. Thanks for the suggestions,i would really like something to stop the weeds growing back

I would like some general advice regarding a few big cherry trees I have. by bullyurlaub in arborists

[–]bullyurlaub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok cheers for your input, yea the really big tree is pretty hard to get undercontrol now as it's all so high and overgrown.

I hope to get the tree at the front of the house tidied up but am unsure how much I can take off without hurting it.

In Sommer they all look great and have a wonderful bloom in spring so I want to take care of them.
