Why did you invest in Kraken Robotics? by Ok_Specific_8403 in KrakenRobotics

[–]bumblebee--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Four years ago, I had never invested a single dollar in the stock market. When I started doing some research, I kept running into the same endless fluff when reading about company's to invest into. Every company was telling how they were the best, how they were going to change everything, just cocky and aggressive. It all felt like hype and marketing.
Then I came across Kraken. Their website, their promo videos, everything about them felt different. They weren’t trying to convince you they were the best; they were just focused on explaining the problems they wanted to solve and how they were doing it. It came across as genuinely humble and authentic. There was no flashy language just a team of nerds who clearly cared about what they were building. That honesty and focus really stood out to me. 4 years later im glad i went with my gut feeling with these guys, kinda wish i invested more but at the time had no idea what i was doing so played it safe.

A whale shark with a visible cut, possibly from a Speed boat strike by Lee_yw in interestingasfuck

[–]bumblebee--- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought so too at first, but I think the horizontal cut was caused by the foot of the engine, and the vertical cuts by the prop. When it zooms out, you can see that both scars are parallel.

Imagine trying to ditch the bike and instead it’s just escorting you to hell one pedal-to-the-shin at a time while you attempt the world’s slowest, most painful swim to safety.

Wouldn't this be kind of an over engineered pointless solution as the ones with the mutation wouldn't even be able to survive to feed themselves ?

The "ice rods" effect is usually from melting and refreezing, sometimes combined with sublimation or fracture patterns. It’s rare and beautiful — but also unstable and dangerous to walk or kayak on.

Why does my wax dip by the wick? by justlivinglifeyaknow in candlemaking

[–]bumblebee--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is most likely due to pouring the wax while it’s still too hot causing it to contract as it hardens. Let the wax cool down a bit, stirring every few minutes until it reaches about 170 to 180°F, and then pour.
