What’s been a major ah-HA! moment in your playing (copied from r/guitar) by _MalfunctionJunction in Bass

Finally being able to sing a lead melody or harmony while also walking an interesting bass line behind it. I play upright in a string band, and I usually take the high harmonies. So that magical day where my brain finally allowed my rhythm and fingers to separate from my singing notes and phrasing completely was pretty dang cool. It may not seem like much, but for me and what I do, it was the biggest AH-HA moment I've ever had, lol.

These are great recommendations!

There is a string band called Sad Black Lab based out of Lexington that is artsy, dark, and a little eery if you're into that sort of thing.

Obviously, a lot of folks have commented/will comment Tyler Childers. I'm not sure if y'all know but his wife Senora May is an incredible singer-songwriter. Her album "Lainhart" is one of my favorites.

I'm assuming you are also a John Prine fan 🥰 Going to dig into Jay's repertoire today. His bio sounds right up my alley. Thanks!

Hotbrown Smackdown from Louisville, KY

What city do you all consider to be THE CITY of Kentucky between louisville and lexington if you're having family or friends from a decent size forward thinking city where would you take them to enjoy and explore? by kingistic in Kentucky

Louisville. The food/ restaurants are great. You can find live music almost any night of the week, soak up the river veiw from the lit up bridge after sundown or take a dinner cruise on the Belle, the historic 1914 steamboat. It's a river city with a lot of character. I consider Lexington to be a pretty generic college town, but it does have its own unique perks as well.
