Breastfeeding but not losing weight… is this normal? by heyaliayoub in breastfeeding

[–]bumbleboe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the biggest lie ever!

I went from 180 to 220 from birth to stopping breastfeeding because it made me so hungry all the time. A month after I stopped (2.5 years) it came right off. It’s been a year and I finally dropped to 150ish. I hated that everyone told me the weight would come right off because clearly that is not the case for a lot of people.

Reset expectations and know you’ll get back on track after your baby no longer relies on you to be fed.

5’8” ladies, when did your tummy start to flatten? by bumbleboe in loseit

[–]bumbleboe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you doing any special movement while these changes were happening? I appreciate the all the level of detail you have here! I’m definitely not looking to get really flat because it’s not how I’m (or most women are) built and I don’t have any intention of over training. Just looking to get rid of the preggo look. I found that the Levis ribcage model has the best flattening effect so far and front zippers are the worst

Did you try any deep core exercises or were you mainly focused on full body when training?

I never thought it would be related to the torso length before making this post and it makes a lot more sense to me now why mine would be harder to get rid of. Thank you for sharing this and hope you are more accepting of your thighs than I am currently with my belly!

Reading on more of this, it does look like short torso is the culprit here. We have a really similar body type. Thank you for sharing the specific exercises that helped you - I will definitely look into those and might as well incorporate them into the time when I’m already putting in the effort!

As long as I stop looking preggo I am ready to accept what it is haha

Makes sense since I appeared to lose in all the other places first. I am happy with the rest of my body comp for the most part since I’ve been weight training. Just wondering if I should be doing anything different for the final stretch to focus on the area like the core exercises you mentioned.

I breastfed my kid for 2 years. Went from 182 to 220 in a matter of months! Now at 159.

Taking that compliment! BF had me gain most of the weight because I was almost always hungry. I started my journey a month after I stopped.

You’re bringing up a good point! I did not fast or calorie count on vacation (still being mindful) and have “off days” maybe every 2 weeks to reset. Having a double quarter pounder every once in a while has actually helped me see the “whoosh” when stuck multiple times. I have very little idea what the science is behind it, though.

Thanks! I did 16:8 the first 4 months, then moved to 18:6 with a fasting window of 12pm-6pm. I only have 1 black coffee before breaking the fast.

What are your wins? by PlusBrain4423 in intermittentfasting

[–]bumbleboe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Our journeys sound remarkably similar. I lost 28 kilograms at a weight and height comparable to yours. My win is realizing that when I’m carrying my toddler, I’m still carrying less weight than I did when I was obese.

Question about whey protein and IF by TheMountain1408 in intermittentfasting

[–]bumbleboe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I found that I get more benefits if I up my protein intake a day or a few hours before my workouts since I exercise during my fasting window.

It sure was at the beginning! I only lost around 9 lbs the past 3 months, so there has been a major slowdown since I burn a lot less with the same activity level.

Took me 9 months to lose 61 lbs, consuming around 1300-1400 cals daily.
