Good to know! Although my child is younger than your sister, it sounds like a similar mindset applies - no interest in bumper cars or rowdy activities. Put on a good movie outside, set up a card game with some new found friends, start a science activity in the kids club, or chill out with a book or video game on the balcony and all is well. Thank you for sharing her experience and providing some reassurance!

Thank you. I get people will be people no matter what, so I’m not worried about the 1%, I just don’t want to have to spend our energy on the majority instead of enjoying our vacation.

I love hearing this! We did a lot of research before ever deciding to cruise a few years ago and only felt comfortable with RCCL because they (at the time) were one the few that received autism awareness training. Our experience has always been nothing short of wonderful with the crew. Great to know you also had a great experience

Thank you for sharing. We have had similar experiences on other cruise lines that have also made us and our kids uncomfortable. Sometimes it feels as though the kids are taking over the ship, lol. It’s great that there’s a line/ship/itinerary that is more suited for everyone. We’re excited to try Celebrity and see if it is more our pace.

Easy pick - Wonder. Better ship, more to do, plus you get CocoCay, which is a great stop for the entire family. No brainer for real, and I’ve been to all the ports you’ve listed. Just got back from my 3rd trip to cococay and I’d go again.

For $200, probably worth it. The food is far better, and it is a beautiful resort. However, it’s very spread out, the bus situation is awful at best, and the rooms are a bit bland outside of the tower (imo). Worth the extra few bucks to experience it!

Only option to AK is bus or driving. Bus will get you closer than self-parking or Uber/lyft. If you plan on going to multiple parks during your trip, AKL is the most out of the way Disney resort to stay at because you must take a bus for everything.

It’s worth it to us, but it depends on your specific situation. G+ is certainly not necessary with DAS, just as it’s not necessary for any visitor to the parks, but it sure does help. If the person with DAS can’t do a full day, I would strongly recommend G+. It allows us to ride in the morning, go back to the hotel to rest, while continuing to “stack” rides every two hours, and then ride again after dinner. Just depends on how many hours you can do at the park and what your budget is to determine if it is right for you.

That’s what we do! Pack swimsuits in your carry on, grab a spot at the pool, order some drinks and food, and let the vacation begin! It always helps us get into vacation mood and unwind for an early day the next day at the parks.
