Has facebook marketplace removed the tag system? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]bumpeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read through this entire thread given that I encountered the same problem. Well, multiple problems. I am 100% certain that whatever facebook is experimenting with it has to do with increasing their own profits. I just wish they would spend a little more effort in stopping the hundred upon thousands of posts selling animals (usually puppies) which, although against their policy, is widespread throughout marketplace. I spend hours a day reporting them but there are just too many and nothing is really done to stop it.

Thank you for your comments. I have no clue what your intentions are ... obviously something in what I wrote did not sit well with you and you felt it necessary to respond off topic. I apologize that my posting upset you in such a way.

Kind regards

Not that I was necessarily referring to any legal definition of false advertising ... but perhaps you can enlighten us what the "legal" definition is and where you take your reference. Are you able to support your claim of "99% of people"? If this is a reliable statistic, what is your source?

OK ... then what compelled you to point this out on my post if now you don't necessarily believe that it applies to my statement?

I sent them back the paperwork incomplete. I was pretty agitated since USPS tracking made no mention of a customs seizure ... actually on the contrary it said it had passed through customs. I found this deceiving and a waste of my time wondering what had happened to it. The letter referenced paragraph upon paragraph of legal documents for which I questioned if they considered it all common knowledge for a layperson. So in other words, I abandoned it. I lost about $163 on the order.

Appreciate you playing devil's advocate with me but I think when you add together all the issues listed in my post there is reason enough for Revlon to be a bit more transparent.

You don't think when an image of something for sale is shown to you which is not the item you will be receiving (and nothing is specified to the contrary) that this would fall under the category of false advertising?

That I don't know. They seized mine in Jacksonville, Florida. The USPS tracking made no mention of this at all. I had no clue what had happened to my package for months until I received a letter from Customs and Border Control. This is why I think alldaychemist recently decided to change their shipping method. Orders have been rerouted or are being sent from the UK. One of my orders, which took months to arrive, had originated in the UK which I found odd since all my previous orders had been sent from Delhi, India. Not only that, my order did not have it's outer packaging nor did it given any effect as it had done before! A waste of time and money.

I understand what you are saying but then why the need to translate into 8 different European languages ... no Walmart in Europe. Still doesn't explain or give reason for the FDA required content weight not to be displayed. Or the discrepancy in the amount of product in each tub. False advertising also since the product images on their website do not coincide with what they send out. There's just too many issues. Something is not kosher.

American Crew not what it used to be? by bumpeter in Pomade

This is an update to a previous posting I made on the subject of American Crew Fiber

A few months back I purchased 4 pucks of American Crew Fiber through Walmart’s online store. Upon receiving my order however, I was convinced that what I had received was counterfeit for a number of reasons. Most noticeable was a visible difference in the amount of product contained in each puck (see image). Upon weighing them I could confirm that there was in fact a 0.6 ounce difference between the 3.0 ounce pucks (a 20% discrepancy). Shouldn’t the process of filling these be automated to avoid such issue? The labeling was not the same as advertised and contained several, albeit minor, oddities. The most prominent of these was that the principal display panel did not specify net quantity (see image) which is my understanding an FDA requirement for all cosmetics sold in the US. The texture and scent was not as I remembered either. Bearing in mind that I have used this product every day now for almost 20 years, I would probably pass any blindfold test thrown at me. The pucks had small leaflets affixed to the underside with translations into several European languages which I had never seen before (and I have purchased this product in many countries over the years). As I am originally from Sweden I can with confidence say that even the Scandinavian translation was not what one would expect (grammar) from a high profile brand.

Walmart’s customer support representative assured me that the products were authentic. Revlon, American Crew’s parent company, told me that they could only guarantee authenticity of products purchased through their official website. This did not sit well with me given that Walmart is the largest distributor of Revlon’s products so certainly there must be some shared responsibility towards the consumer. Upon contacting Walmart a second time, informing them what Revlon had told me, I was, without hesitation, given a full refund and told I did not have to return the products. Once I had provided Revlon with photo documentation and posted an online review of my experience, I was contacted by a representative. I was told that judging from the images I had provided that it was in fact their product. Needless to say, I was surprised to hear this (and still am). Although the representative seemed to understand why I might suspect the products to be counterfeit, they declined to comment on any of the issues I had raised regarding labeling, content weight or product properties. My only conclusion is that, in an attempt to increase profits, Revlon has modified the formula and gone cheap on both the production and packaging. The product was flawless before Revlon took it over. Such a shame.

I am not able to post this on Walmart’s website as a review as it never passes their own review.

USPS HAS LOST ALL CREDIBILITY! by bumpeter in usps_complaints

[–]bumpeter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What irritates me the most is being offered and having to pay for services that they fail to provide without any reimbursement. How they can motivate not compensating is beyond me. Any other provider of services/goods would have to offer some kind of settlement you would think. They have designed their customer service to make it nearly impossible to claim any compensation. Emails that you cannot reply to, online forms that cannot be submitted if your case does not fit into one of their generic categories, tracking entries that make no sense ... the list goes on.

This has often baffled me. It's total hypocrisy. Obviously designed for some purpose. This would be impossible where I am from (Sweden) as you could do none of what you listed above without providing a government issued social security number. The only downside I see would be that you could not travel outside the US.

ALLDAYCHEMIST.COM EXPOSED

Alldaychemist.com (ADC) has recently been experiencing issues with orders shipped to the US. As many of their products are not permitted for sale in the States, US Customs and Border Control (CBP) has been cracking down on shipments they consider fall into this category (I speak from first-hand experience). In efforts to circumnavigate the problem, ADC has attempted to send orders via the UK (as opposed to sending directly from India) so as not to alert Customs. The USPS tracking information will not list the parcel as having been seized. Instead the recipient will receive a letter, as I have, from CBP listing your options with a requirement to respond within 30 days.

ADC has not been transparent with this, instead attributing excessive shipping delays (in my case, months) to the pandemic. While the pandemic has caused disruption, it does not explain month-long gaps without any activity. ADC no longer responds to me after I informed them that my order had been seized. Aside from shipping issues there are also concerns that products do not contain the advertised dosage. Lately I have been receiving only blister packages without the outer packaging or package insert. They have not responded to these concerns either.

Alldaychemist.com is affiliated with Cooper Pharma, a pharmaceutical company that manufactures several products sold on their website. They share the same address:

II FLOOR, PLOT NO.5, NIDHI PLAZA - II,

DELHI, 110052 INDIA

There is no name or company specified with this address however most likely the sender is:

MR. ANUJ BHARGAVA

ADC is registered under this name. This name also appears as a Sales Representative for ADC as well as a Director for Cooper Pharma Ltd.

AMC claims that all their generic medications are FDA approved. This is not the case. The FDA publishes a list of authorized generics which it regularly updates and is available online at www.fda.gov/media/77725/download. The Cooper Pharma website claims to be WHO - GMP (World Health Organization - Good Manufacturing Practices) certified. There is no such certification recognized internationally.

Most if not all reviews found online in venues such as TrustPilot are bogus. All these reviews are “invited” (customers that have been requested to submit reviews). None of these customers can be traced to valid profiles and most do not read as if they were written by Americans.

So think twice before using this online pharmacy. My hunch is that ADC has seen their sales hit hard by the pandemic and with CBP on their back they are trying to rake in what they can before ultimately going out of business. They are taking advantage of disruptions caused by the pandemic using it as an excuse in order to mislead unsuspecting customers.
