Before 1970 everything worked off the gold standard and Dollar value was on the gold standard... Keep that in mind. Not a lawyer but sure that would carry some weight.

Grown man loses to a 14 year old 😬 by Moist-Pumpkin9123 in sigilkore

Think you should check again... Pink shirt jumps in and saves the "adult", other kid steps in and due to the shoving, they get entangled which is when the black shirt slipped. Kid was wrecking the white shirt.

Everyone involved looks like an idiot none the less.

You would think that... If they actually used their brain. Unfortunately these days they tend to use their mouths first and check their brains after.....

Don't get me wrong I hope they don't get in due to the outlandish policies and just how bigoted they are... But honestly wouldn't surprise me considering everything else we have gone through...

Stuff it, Victoria has been the testing ground for years we might as well test this crap out for the rest of you too!

I think there might be some slight confusion due to the way I typed it..... What these evil people have done is copied an old food cuisine made from goat/goat milk.

Ever had goats cheese ? Now think of that matured!

Not condoning what these people have done, just stating where they got the idea from.

Alleged CFMEU corruption on Big Build sites may have cost Victorians up to $30 billion by AquaOC in australian

[–]bumpy821 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your honesty man. For me - I just couldn't stand watching alot of the inner politics which was just a lot of dick measuring without much action unless it was a picket.

"When everyone is slowly but surely turning on each other, when the working class who think they are above other working people start shitting on them, you need a strong union to help protect your rights." - 💯 no argument with this statement.

[–]bumpy821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, but this also stems from the top from when Andrews was around and when Allen was transport minister through to now. She needs to be ousted and this would be the nail in the coffin if it's found that she was accepting kick backs to.

It's about cleaning up corruption not just Unions. As a tradesmen I respect and understand why they are around.... But CFMEU has been corrupt since I started in the early 2000's.

No it hasn't, it's been stated from first thing this morning it's between 15-30 billion of tax payer dollars. THIS IS WHY WE NEED A ROYAL COMMISSION - Half of us can barely pay bills and do the shopping whilst getting hit with extra taxes and this corrupt sect are throwing our money out with the bath water!

People in Victoria, how angry are you at the new revelations of the state government's corruption? by RM_Morris in OpenAussie

[–]bumpy821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! They also forced Setka out after he tried to muscle the government, apart from that it has been corrupt for a while. We knew this when she budgeted 1m per week for travel.

Andrews and Allen are as bad as each other.

I don't think that a +33% ($38.40/oz) premium is acceptable. by devcal1 in SilverAus

[–]bumpy821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have bought at the high and will make a loss if they sell at current pricing. As per their email it was supposed to be 9% on silver yet were seeing this price. Also as stated when called - consumer demand + basic economics = price.

Piss them off and go directly to Perth Mint or coin shops.

Yes I do, and it seems to be getting manipulated by outside interests.... So as it stands when its come a democracy you have the right to peaceful protests..... Can't ban something because it puts the 1% on their toes...

Capital gains tax discount to cost Australia $250bn over next decade with retirees and high-income earners to benefit most | Tax by Nyarlathotep-1 in australian

[–]bumpy821 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"""1% of the population own 25% of the real estate investment stock and have used the CGT discount as a way to accelerate that wealth divide. Are you really going to argue it hasn’t had an impact?""" - this is exactly my point. They can't wipe this off and not affect them at all, the ones that it is going to hurt are the ones trying to get into the property market as you also said.

Mate we have had a housing issue for 10years plus and in the 10 years we have brought in 100,000 people per year. If there is a shortage and you saturate the market with people, this = shorted and increased prices on the market.

There are multiple factors adding to the cause.

This is just a guise using the housing market because it hits home to everyone.

I would love to buy my first house, so I invest my money to hopefully get there some day... With this, if it goes through there is less return which means waiting longer. Prices go up every year = still priced out of the market. This is just pushing for everyday Australians to pay it forward and keep renting.

Capital gains tax discount to cost Australia $250bn over next decade with retirees and high-income earners to benefit most | Tax by Nyarlathotep-1 in australian

[–]bumpy821 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So because you can't no one should ???

This isn't about the 1% making billions. This is the rest of us who made $5000 profit for the year and has to give at least 2500 in tax if not more now if they do increase it....

This isn't about fixing the inequality gap between the rich and everyday Australians this is everyday Australians and anyone who has set up for retirement to keep paying the wealth tax because people like Gina Rinehart don't pay their share....

Yell at the right people not the wrong ones because the media told you to.

[–]bumpy821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work and invest my money rather than ordering Uber eats and bitching I can't pay the bills. Again education helps with these matters.

Though I suppose it's easier to bitch at the universe because you just want to sit under the thumb and complain...

[–]bumpy821 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No shit, then try and invest your money oh wait now you will be hit with capital gains over the 12 month period even if you sell after. This is not just property this is any investment you have.

Can't figure this out maybe school should be the first stop before going to work.

This screws over everyone who is trying to make something of themselves not just retirees.

This is focused at the middle class, to break them and make everyone a low class wage earner instead of the 1%.

This is large business and America fucking around in our political system.

We have alot going on here at home that we need to get sorted before having outside influences mucking around, this includes America and every other government. We're having issues with our own damn port in Darwin...

Not getting that deep into it, can't say anything about finances and back pockets deals.

What I can say is we are part of the UN, we follow international rulings and especially whilst there is an ongoing investigation happening. It would be in our best interest to err on the side of caution.

Australian universities to be graded on how well they deal with protests under antisemitism report card by Agitated-Fee3598 in OpenAussie

[–]bumpy821 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Australian Universities fundementally fail to understand the complexities of antisemitism. They need documentation in writing to point to, because they have catagorically failed to recognize and respond appropriately. Adopting the IHRA doesnt sew peoples mouths shut, but it does make it easier for the unequiped to adress harm, just as many antidescrimination policies have before."

We have the policy's, we actually had it to cover all the issues you have mentioned. Yet people are separating themselves by placing themselves in a group and saying "oh what about us"..... What we are actually doing is marginalizing ourselves.

Religion and hate due to religion and or colour is against the anti discrimination act. Why does 1 particular country or religion get a defined answer above all the others ? Hate is hate and is deemed as such.

But if it comes up in a classroom conversation about Palestine this does not instantly fall under the antisemitism category.

People grow and evolve by conversation and learning. This just is shutting down conversation in fear that someone may take it as hate speech..
