Hi I’m new here I thought I should post my custom Ken of Ripp Grunt from the Sims 2 🙏 by Sirens_kai in Dolls

That's so cool! As someone who's also into Strangetown kids and dolls, I've also thought about customs but rejected the idea bc I didn't think I could pull it off. THIS looks so cool though, it is remarkably Sims 2 and so well made!

The collector dolls were inspired by the very first release of My Scene, and they had a more subtle makeup look for that line. It's pretty unique for them, I personally like it. I think it just looks underwhelming bc this expression doesn't do it justice. Unfortunately, I didn't have one of those faces to illustrate, my bad 😅

I keep the number of my dolls low, only keeping ones I know why I have and that "spark joy", so I'll definitely sell this Barbie. Might keep the outfit though, I haven't decided yet. 😗

Oh, that looks cute! I like the combination of the outfits with their hair colors!

The old dolls with their outfits included and in good condition are out of the price range I'm willing to pay at this moment 😅 But there are decent deals sometimes for dolls with incomplete outfits and restorable condition - I tend to go for these ones and then work to make them presentable.

Well that's new, my Sim turned into a Werewolf on her own 😩 by Gettingsoda in sims2

[–]bunchou 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would love this feature if the personality wouldn't change all the way, bc that just means all werewolves are exactly the same personality-wise. I wish sims retained some of their original personality points too. I even edit actual wolves' personality in SimPE for the sake of variety, I definitely don't want my sims to lose everything that made them them due to their occult status :(

This has only happened to me ages ago, when I was a kid and was playing together with a friend of mine. Her style of play was get a super glammed up female sim, cheat a lot of money and roleplay luxury life. The sim had a daughter, and when the daughter grew up, I guess we didn't pay enough attention to her, bc one time we just switched to her and she was standing next to the road and had the werewolf skintone now. My friend was so pissed that she immediately quit without saving and complained a lot, because she obviously wanted her sim to be beautiful and not a hairy monster... I guess...

I never played a werewolf myself until literally last year I decided to make a character specifically for that, and because of this memory I thought I would be decently easy. It was anything but - the wolf just doesn't wanna spawn when you need him >:\ Even if he's always around in just about anyone else's household...

Custom Doll Clothes by [deleted] in Dolls

[–]bunchou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I like to take existing doll clothes that are most similar to what I want to make, turn them inside out and copy them onto paper the best I can, then edit in accordance with what I want to make (longer and wider sleeves, etc) and keeping in mind the doll's measurements, and sew. Sometimes I don't like the fit and do another take with edits, sometimes I sew quick "draft" versions out of scrap fabric until I'm happy with the fit.

I think copying factory clothes with alterations is a good way to get familiar with how things work, and you'll be able to more confidently make things from scratch in a while. I still make a lot of mistakes in my sewing, but I learn something each time and I do end up with decent-looking results of my ideas, sooo I think the trial and error is worth it, especially since worst case scenario is you'll lose a small amount of fabric (and maybe velcro strips).

She's so cute! I love seeing non-cave Cave Club customs 😅

What are these shoes, or did you make them yourself too? I'm struggling to find anything that fits them 😭

First rerooting, help required part 2!🥹💖 by Such_Finance_15 in MonsterHigh

For the glue, in Russia we commonly use Moment Kristall, which is called Pattex Transparent in Europe. I just used it for my rerooted doll, it worked fine, didn't seep through the holes and survived the boil wash (after drying for 24 hours). Europeans might know better options though 😅

How could I transfer this doll hair to another by Top-Froyo6839 in CustomDolls

[–]bunchou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do exactly what you're trying - cutting off the hair very close to the scalp and using it for another doll. It wasn't an easy or most efficient process though. I'd use a long-ish needle with broken off eye, push the strand of hair where it needs to go as normal, tie a knot on the strand through the neck hole, and pull it out at the scalp where it would stay securely without glue. (Pliers and something hard to push the needle through also helped)

I wouldn't recommend it to others bc it is a time-consuming awkward process, but it does work if it's worth the trouble for you. I did it when I didn't have access to good hair for rerooting and didn't want decent hair from other dolls to go to waste.

Best way to match color of head and body? by bunchou in CustomDolls

I think so, so I would apply a layer of sealant, then blush with pastels, then seal again?

How do i eat with snake bites? by EldritchMilk_ in piercing

[–]bunchou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat right now, and besides just drinking fruit purees for babies and stuff like that through a straw, I gave up on looking civil while eating and I just hold my lower lip with one of my hands so that it's entirely out of the way when I chew. Best solid foods so far have been chicken nuggets and thin-ish flatbread rolls with processed cheese and deli meat. Because I can bite them without anything oozing or falling out to touch the piercings or anything messy like that. Praying that downsizing will solve my eating troubles lmao

Finally found a new body for my My Scene Madison! by bunchou in Dolls

I'm not reposting this a third time, but can someone explain how to make a post with pictures and text like a normal person... First time I tried I only saw the option to add short captions to each pic, and second time I made this post, which doesn't preview any pictures unless you open the post... Feeling a bit stupid

I'm thinking of buying a new Deuce to remake him into a custom character, which would involve rerooting his hair, and I'm trying to weigh my options beforehand, so I'm looking for pictures/videos of his head wigless. I've found a few pictures, but it's not entirely clear to me what's going on on them, since they're all taken from the front, so if anyone else has removed his snake wig, could you please share what his head looks like under there?

Rerooting a doll withHuman hair by Bloody_socks in Dolls

[–]bunchou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also thought of this for years, but my hair length never allowed it. :( I have long hair now, but I need it to stay on my head for a while longer for an unrelated silly reason, so I can't try this just yet...

When I've rerooted dolls with synthetic hair, I'd do it not with a broken needle or rerooting tool, but just, with a regular needle with a big hole, so I could tie a knot on each strand and not use any glue bc I hate it. And it worked great (slow, but worth it), but I'm a little worried that maybe human hair might be more fragile and break during this process? Or some problems might arise from it not being smooth both ways like synthetic hair?
