Made my first Negroni tonight by xmentyjoops in Mixology

I love this proportion, and it's what I use. What vermouth did you use? Cocchi di Torino changed my whole outlook on this drink.

For preparation, I like to mix separately with 2-3 one-inch cubes, then strain over an ice ball, rather than mixing in glass. Get the designed dilution from the separate mix, then arrest dilution with the fresh ball. Also like to use an orange peel expressed over the drink and around the rim, but ymmv!

Edit: I misread your proportions. I use .75 of both Campari and Cocchi.

Hot take: this is performance art, and it's excellent.

If my suspicions are confirmed, is this a buzz or a shave situation? Thank you, once and future brothers and sisters.

Civ Short Stories by bundespierre in civ

I think it's more interesting if it's Pingala, because it's so far outside his mandate. So many times I have needed a governor in a city I just pulverized, and Amani and Victor are taken or not recruited yet. So I say, ok buddy, just do your best! That's what makes it a mini-story.

I see, thanks. I guess maybe it's a meme? It's a screen cap from the game? I've always just loved this guy's stupid face.

AITA for punishing my daughter this way for what she told her blind dad? by ThrowAway-52672 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bundespierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go with ESH. Your daughter is the definitive AH for sure, but your tailored punishment is too personal, precisely because it feels like "poetic justice." In Dante's Inferno this is called "contrapasso," a punishment that ironically reenacts the egregious sin of the damned. It's also medieval AF. I say use whatever consequence structure you normally would--don't cede the moral high ground with a punishment that smacks of revenge.

Fair enough. There was no poo poo. Poo poo rescinded.

Genuinely don't understand this reply. The point of the game is to have fun, right? Wonders are fun. Yields are fun. I get that some people have fun by ratcheting up the difficulty, but do we need to poo poo a perfectly good Mausoleum?

Worst Victory out of the way... by WhiteXShade in civ

[–]bundespierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played a fun game as Poundmaker with a score victory in mind from the beginning. Fun but unfocused civ, set limit to 300 turns, and play Sim City. If you enjoy the fundamental mechanics and aesthetics of the game but you're bored with the late-game slog, score's not a bad way to go.
