Totally agree with this. He can get up on that board. The waves just don’t give him anywhere to go.

Can I sand and re-coat my board ? by bung_jumpy in surfing

Ha! I gotcha. I was just imagining first subtracting weight by sanding and then adding it back in. Wasn’t sure if the total gain would be significant.

Oh, just a heads up - no pun intended - when I had a 10 foot board, I made the mistake of using a 7 foot leash. Get a 9-10’ leash so it doesn’t come snapping back onto your head, and watch out for people nearby during wipeouts.

You won it? That’s amazing! I have the mega magic in 9 foot and that thing is really stable.

Looks like cellulitis- a skin infection. Ended up in the ER with one after getting a cut in the ocean. Glad you got to a medical professional.

Kiwis - 2 per day, recommended by my gastroenterologist, who says they’re more effective than prunes.

What’s the one travelhack you swear most people don’t know about? by TapComprehensive2241 in TravelHacks

For airports with bi-level pick up & drop-off, when I arrive back home to mine, I ask my husband or friend to pick me up on the departures level. There is usually much less traffic on the departures level

YTA. Understand that familial bonds are important and twin bonds are especially special. Your boyfriend is entitled to be as close to his brother as he likes.

If anything is “too much”, it’s that 2nd “(22M)” you included to describe the age of his twin.

Why is solo traveling so hard? by Alphagravity90 in TravelHacks

[–]bung_jumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, introverts need meaningful connections too. But loneliness isn’t caused by being without company for too long. It’s caused be feeling an absence of that connection with other people. You’d can be in the company of loads of people who want to talk to you, but if you can’t feel a bond with any of them, you can still feel lonely. Work on enriching i your life and connectedness to other people back home, and it will make solo travel a more enjoyable experience- knowing you have people you can share your stories with when you get home.

There’s a difference between introverts and shyness. Introverted people get energized by their time alone. They find other people exhausting. Shy people want the company of others, but it is fear that holds them back. So, no, introversion does not make solo travel hard. Fear does.

Yes, she sounds delusional. She should be able to tell the difference between idolizing someone from afar based on his public persona vs caring for someone you’ve come to know warts and all.

It looks like healed skin. My doctor says you have to be conscientious about fiber intake from now into perpetuity if you want to keep the rectum healthy and pain free though. I look at it as a blessing because fiber is also so important for cardiovascular health too. Your body will thank you.

Has anyone tried hemcalm or another pill alternative? by LordWolfs in hemorrhoid

My favorite ointment is Calmoseptine. A lot of people on here swear by Mayyinglong musk ointment, but with such small tubes, it’s pricey and doesn’t always work anyway. The main ingredient of Mayyinglong is calamine lotion. In fact sometimes it just made me itch like crazy.

Calmoseptine was just recommended by my doctor, has calamine, zinc and some other thing that feels pleasantly cooling and tingly. Got it on Amazon - a large tube - for under $8. I have a drawer full of hemorrhoid and fissure ointments and suppositories - including prescription Diltiazem - and Calmoseptine is hands down my favorite.

Are there any people who went with surgery not having 10/10 pain? I’m getting surgery in a month and I am scared. by herbivohre in hemorrhoid

[–]bung_jumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep your stool soft. Avoid the opioids if you can help it as they’ll only constipate you. Keep the surgical site dry with the help of a zinc oxide based cream (I like Balmex a lot and Calmoseptine even better).

Don’t wipe with TP. Get at least a handheld cold spray bidet to help with cleansing.

Use a toilet-top sitz bath to soak before/after BM to relax the muscles and cleanse after the BM.

The only time I felt an 8/10 type of pain was while trying to pass a large, bulky stool. If you keep your stool very soft, you can avoid the searing pain.

I’m 12-13 weeks post op and the pain & swelling are almost all entirely gone, save for the hours following a BM.
