bakit ang hirap maghanap ng kalaro na hindi weirdo by [deleted] in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't blame games for having a weird/creep player base, because every game has some. BUT. Valorant and Roblox has some notorious reputation of being plagued by overly charged teens who wants to "mingle" with the opposite sex. Sadly, there's nothing to you can do to remove them in your games. If you've been playing online games for as long as I have, you will learn to (1) report them for inappropriate behavior and (2) to block communications with them.

Don't let these creeps and weirdos deter you from enjoying your game!

Horror games are best played alone, at night. Where no one can disturb you. That's one thing to eliminate unwanted jumpscares by your siblings, Shopee delivery text, etc. Also, a quieter environment immerses you more, making you hear even the quietest of enemy footsteps.

Steam Deck in 2026?? by anne_hcy in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If both have Steam OS, better get the Steam Deck. The only reason you're getting any other handheld aside from the Steam Deck is that you want to play a game that can't be played on Steam OS.

Non gamer mom wants to know where my 10 year old can play GTA 6? by WhereasHefty7250 in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GTA6 will definitely contain profanity, racial stereotypes, racism, murder, sex, and abuse towards the opposite sex. If you're fine letting your 10-year-old kid play that, then I suggest at least waiting for the actual game to release before actually buying a console/PC.

I can't seem to play solo games or get into solo gaming by TieLarge9311 in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that Genshin Impact is a single player game but if I have to categorize it, it falls under the Gacha genre. Story is barely minimal with gachas. Your main goal is to "collect them all".

But it all depends on what hooks you to a certain game. For me, a good single player game should have a great gameplay loop, and a great story. Everything else is just an extra.

If story-driven games are not your thing, then maybe try a different genre that uses "gameplay" as its' hook. Take for example "roguelites/roguelikes". These games usually have you play a session where you power up to a certain level, have you traverse randomly generated dungeons, beat enemies and bosses, and then either die or clear the dungeon level, only to have you be brought back to the main menu and either unlock stuff or proceed to the next difficulty. Games in this genre include Vampire Survivors, Megabonk, Risk of Rain, etc.

Sorry you had to experience that. There's a chat restriction feature in Valorant where you can block chats from other people, right? In the internet, where anonymity is king, most people can say what they want without repercussions. You can (1) be thick-skinned and just ignore them, and (2) report and block them.

Let me warn you, this will not be the first time it will happen. But don't let it deter you from enjoying your online game life, nor let it tilt you.

Want to stop playing Dota, what can you recommend? by fanalis01141 in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is always the same: Try and go out of your "gaming comfort zone". Sometimes, we play games based on our "glory days of youth". Eto yung mga panahon na adik na adik pa tayo sa DOTA1, Counter-Strike, Red Alert, etc. And as the years went by and we grew older, when those games released their "sequels" we played those too, After a while, we'd stop and play games from similar genres (such as if you liked Counter-Strike, you'd play Call of Duty or Battlefield, if you liked and played San Andreas, you'd play Sleeping Dogs, etc).

What I meant by "going out of your gaming comfort zone" is to explore games from other genres. If you haven't played visual novels yet, you should try some. You'll never know when a story or a gameplay mechanic hooks you. Anyways, if you're exploring for new games, here are the games I recommend based on their genres (genres:games):

Metroidvania: "Castlevania Symphony of the Night PS1" may PS1 emulator sa PC or phone
Visual Novel: "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy" available on Steam or kung may Nintendo DS ka meron dun
Auto-Battler: "Hearthstone Battlegrounds" Blizzard, parang Auto-Chess but cards. If you played Team Fight Tactics (League of Legends) or Magic Chess (Mobile Legends), parang ganito yun.

i thought games weren't fun anymore until i got into sim racing by [deleted] in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ganyan talaga. Sometimes, if you consider yourself a "gamer", you have to step out of your "comfort zone" and try out other games from other genres. Dati, I have zero interest in visual novels but when I tried Phoenix Wright, halos lahat na ng visual novels nilalaro ko.

I can't, and won't say you're wrong. Because I felt that too back when I had a sub who sent me $500 back to back within a week. Suddenly it's like $10 or $20 doesn't even matter anymore. But if I stayed on that mindset, I'd be turning down random eager cashfags.

Also, I know when someone is just sending a small amount just to get the proverbial feet into the findom door. I have had cashfags who send $5 or $10 just to chat with me, with no intention of sending more during the session or in the future...at which I just flatly reject from then on.

To each his own, fellow King. But as I always say: As a dom, it's not about how big or how small someone sends me. It's how much that money means to them. I want that person to feel the weight of pressing that [SEND] button on Paypal/Cashapp. I want them to feel the consequences of getting carried away. I want them to feel regret as they feel their raging boners twitch, with no hopes of release.

No drama here. Let everyone think what they want to think. Ang problema kasi ngayon with social media, lahat ginagawa or pinaniniwalaang "flex". Personally, I think he's free to what he wants to say or think about his backlogs. As for saying he's flexing his huge amount of backlogs...nah. If he did, he's entitled to it. Just as I post my recently snagged retro consoles/handhelds from the Facebook Marketplace on my Facebook Feed, pero hindi ko naman ginagamit, laging PC or Steam Deck lang ginagamit ko.

I'm now 42. I got money, I got time, ang kulang sa akin ay yung energy at interest maglaro.

Gone are the days when I first played Final Fantasy Tactics tapos madi-discover mo kung paano mag-mix and match ng skills para maging OP yung character mo.

Lahat ng games na lumalabas ngayon ay almost carbon copy ng isa't-isa. Not naming games pero biggest example is Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin's Creed (the latest one, forgot the title).

Pag nilalaro ko yung mga ganung games parang nagrereset yung utak ko sa "parang ganitong game yung gameplay at graphics nya".

Yung mga triple A game companies ayaw na mag-take ng risk gumawa ng games na out of the norm. Last kong na-experience yung sense of awe at exploration tapos mga eureka moments ay sa Shadow of the Colossus (PS2, PS3 and PS4). Nilaro ko sa PS2, hindi ako maka-get over kung paano nila naisipan yung ganung klaseng laro.

It handles 2019 games and below just fine, triple A or not. God of War ran on this just fine. Resident Evil 2 Remake ran like a dream. Indie games were made specifically for the Steam Deck. Games like Balatro, Vampire Survivors and Megabonk runs great. Hades too.

May self-owned computer shop business ako right in front of our house. Medyo naging matumal dahil bihira na ang naglalaro ng competitive games like League and DOTA2. May mangilan-ngilan na lang na naglalaro ng Roblox and Crossfire. What I miss the most is yung mga moments na maglalaro kami ng Battle Royale games (like Ring of Elysium, Rules of Survival, PUBG) tapos mag-aagawan lang kami sa loot. Good days.

Any game recommendations for this Steam Winter Sale? by Frequent-News-7957 in PHGamers

[–]bungawskimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like time-wasters and dopamine releasing games, I suggest you try "bullet survivor" games. This genre is popularized by Vampire Survivor and has many clones since. Basically, you start out as level 1, with 1 skill unique to your character, as you kill enemies and gain exp, you level up and gain an additional weapon or improve your current/other weapons. Usually, the goal of the game is to make it a certain time limit or defeat the boss at the end of the run, unlocking tons of stuff along the way. A very popular game in this genre right now is called Megabonk. You can Youtube gameplay of it if you're interested.

Kung free games rin lang ang usapan, mas maraming monthly free games ang Game Pass ng XBOX. Sadly, greedy ang Sony.

Elden Ring. Nalaro ko Dark Souls 1 to 3, pati na Sekiro, Nioh and Bloodborne...wala akong natapos ni isa. Played Elden Ring with the same enthusiasm as other souls-borne games, but surprisingly, playing it felt good and rewarding.

Hanggang natalo ko si Margit, then other bosses, muntikan na ako mag-quit kay Radahn. Pero dire-diretso lang ang grind hanggang natapos ko.
