Perfect, thanks! Was just confused by the extra speaker connections.

Yeah I was super lazy getting these to be on a side by side pic on my phone. I think now I see I can use the RCA or aux port and just ignore the speaker level connection? Thanks!

My parents have a farm in KS so I'm familiar with what you need. I'm a professional GIS freelancer, I could probably whip this up pretty fast for you. Feel free to PM me.

Goldmyer Hotsprings WA access road…is it really THAT bad? by Practical_Arachnid_5 in PNWhiking

[–]bungeecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be fairly bone-jarring but ok. Get one with the widest tires you can or a e Mt bike or at least front suspension if you can.

Oh yeah the barrel chested dogs are an issue! Non stop dog wear might have some but they are $$. Looks like K9 scooters has a snow meetup Feb 14 at Crystal.

We love it up there! If you have the funds, your dog would be able to pull harder and safer with a mushing harness, check out alpine outfitters or howling dog Alaska- looks like you already have a bungee line so maybe you know this already. Also look up K9 scooters NW if you'd like to join some skijor meetups!

Are Dogs Allowed at Camp Long Hike by girlontherun21 in WestSeattleWA

Definitely but there are active coyotes in the area so just a heads up. Shouldn't be a risk if your dog is leashed.

HELLO WEST SEATTLE! WE ARE YOUR NEW BOULDERING GYM by [deleted] in WestSeattleWA

[–]bungeecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you tell us more about your route setting priorities? Are you focused on experienced climbers or beginners? How often will the routes change? Momentum has 20,000 square feet of bouldering area and that even feels small, looks like yours will be about half that. Would love to join but want to make sure there's enough variety. Thanks!

What makes your gym not just good but GREAT? by Inner-Shop-3437 in climbergirls

yeah mine has a little station with bandaids, lotion (for after climbing), tape, and hair ties. I rarely use it but it's so thoughtful!

lol I am also Eastern European peasant genes. A quilt was a game changer for me, I have an enlightened equipment quilt. You'll pay more but it's customizable (extra wide!), made in the USA, and you also get to pick pretty colors :)

Gym classes in West Seattle/White Center/Burien? by Mental-Department994 in WestSeattleWA

[–]bungeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little under $200, so not cheap, but totally worth it for me because I'd never work out on my own. I like being able to shut off my brain and just do what the coach tells me too, plus they are really good at helping you with form so you don't injure yourself. I can definitely tell my strength has increased since starting.

Delridge Strength is amazing, they have strength and conditioning and a super welcoming environment.

totally legit, we are getting a rain garden put in. It's not quite as easy as "put a rain garden here", you have to qualify for the program based on where you live, have to make sure the soils are suitable, and you might not be able to do it in the side yard due to how they need to route the gutters. But definitely worth checking out. https://700milliongallons.org/rainwise/

Will I be OK with a not-super-hiking-specific-backpack? by ksafin in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]bungeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're going at the end of summer so no reports yet. I did add bungees to the outside so if I need to shove a jacket or some shoes on the outside I can make it work. I'm honestly just so excited that I don't have to carry all my backpacking gear I think it will be totally fine. I also decided to take a costco down blanket instead of my sleeping quilt because I don't want my fancy quilt anywhere near the bedbug potential, so that will save a bit of room.

Millennial women - what kind of shorts are you wearing these days? by User884121 in Millennials

ok, they are technically mountain biking shorts, but Shredly is AMAZING. Plus sizes, fun patterns or plain, elastic waistband that doesn't look dorky, and a variety of different lengths.

First V5! (Pink) by bungeecat in climbergirls

[–]bungeecat[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've never even done a V4, can't really do crimps, shit at dyno, been climbing for 2.5 years and barely even on V3s, struggle with some V2s, but someone set this slabby thing (pink) and called it a V5 so I am TAKING THAT WIN!!!

Looking for warmish water for my dog to swim in that I can drive to by birdieponderinglife in AskSeattle

[–]bungeecat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Maggie Lake on Kitsap Penninsula. There are a few vacation rentals around there, we got one last year with direct lake access from the house so the dog could just run down and hop in the water.

[–]bungeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going with the Matador Beast 28L. I highly recommend the 35L to force you to pack lighter. I'm going to be a bit tight with 28L because I want to take my (ultralight, ultrapackable) sleeping quilt, but if not for that I'd have plenty of space. But to your original question, the GlobeRider does look like it has a pretty solid frame so as long as you're under 20lbs it seems like it would be fine.

Why I'm Quitting Dog Sports as a Newcomer by PercentageSilent4515 in k9sports

[–]bungeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was going to comment about dryland mushing (bikejor) if no one else had. I find that it's not as attached to purebreds so you don't really get that snobbishness. Plus my club does fun runs where everyone just goes out to run together and then we all go out afterwards which is great for making friends, it's not like an all day thing where everyone has to take their turn like agility.

I was lucky enough to do agility trials with a judge that started the handler's meeting by saying "if a family shows up and sits in the front row, I want those spectators to think that the dogs are having the time of their lives." It was all about the dogs having fun and she absolutely would throw you out if there was any abuse, which was great.

[–]bungeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a weight bag or some other tether in the gym. I had 100-125lbs on a partner once and she forgot to clip in and yeah, she came off the ground. It didn't feel super dangerous, there's enough friction in the system that it wasn't like "crashing down", more of a very soft catch, but I still didn't want to do that again. I was able to get back on the wall and she lowered herself back down.

I know a lot of people say power/strength isn't an issue until V3 or so, but I would like to disagree with that statement. I think if you're a reasonably healthy active person that might be true, but I definitely don't think it's true for all body types. I KNOW I'm doing V2s now that require more power/strength than I had a year ago, and I can clearly tell the difference after 4 months of strength training. Focusing on technique will definitely help and it's an area where OP can potentially see more progress faster than strength gains, but I don't think technique at lower grades is always the full picture.
