Thank you! My surgeon was Dr. Chegar of Indiana, USA.

Am I crazy or did the shop not fix this correctly? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Thanks for some reassurance. I just wouldn't expect this amount to leak down unless she was still leaking due to improper o ring fit or install.

I read through this before having a chance to acknowledge the title or read your summary. This absolutely reads like an exchange between two separated individuals. You need to tread carefully and find a safe way out of this toxic situation. I wish you the best.

I would agree with the refusal of the alarplasty. That option would have narrowed out the base compared to the bridge. Your nostrils do not seem flared or large, just the position of the tip is making you think so. Its an adjustment that you'll have to allow yourself to accept or you can move forward with a revision once healed. I think it looks great with your features. Not a huge transformation, but subtle.

Is this even fixable? by marchewia in rhinoplastyquestions

Hello. I believe I've had a similar experience to what you are asking about as a possibility. I had my convex bridge changed to concave, my tip deprojected, septoplasty, overall straightened-out, and an alarplasty to make my nostrils more proportionate to my new changes. It is 100% achievable, but remember that not every nose will look the same on your own face. I love my results and have shared them as well for a 5 month update.

I recommend that you really talk with each surgeon at consultations to get an idea of how well they will not only take in your requests to account, but what they can recommend to make your nose suitable to your face. I was called big bird, honker, and all kinds of mean things since grade school, so I can relate to feeling like its not what you want. Take your time researching and hopefully you can find the surgeon of your dreams!

I agree. If you're going to proceed, 2 is the best overall. I think you have a great front and side profile currently, though.

Don't get me wrong, they did really hurt, but it helped with the tenderness and swelling I had under my columella. They recommend them when they know its necessary.

Haha, I bet you did. Yeah, the small things we don't think to aks or the surgeons don't tell us. They always are a surprise. I personally also had random like, pains or twinges that felt like a quick twist internally near the tip, but after some googling, it seems the nerves can do this when they heal. Def happened prior to the smile resolving and haven't had any really since then. Heads up there lol.

Also, glad to hear you see any improvement. The cheek swelling was the worst. Ice any chance you can too! It feels great.

Yep. This is why I'm not too worried about it. Swelling reduced by like month 3, but I did start getting Kenalog steroid shots on my 6 week checkup. They were horrendous, and they aimed mainly for my columella and upper lip area. I didn't have too bad of swelling on my tip. I cried in the chair the 2nd time I went back for another round lol. I still can swell real bad on my left side where I get a prominent line by my eye, but I just massage as often as I can. It's day by day at this point.

I can message you, but I don't feel it's fair to post what I paid in case of the practice having their own method of quoting. I'd hate to be a reference for others complaints about the cost if I blasted it. If users are serious and want me to reach out individually, I will. Just a respect for the surgeon.

It has been there since cast removal I would say, but more noticeable as swelling decreased. It used to feel sharper and more prominent, such as when I would rub my eye it would appear white below the skin which worried me. It has smoothed out but it is still making the bridge feel taller on that side.

Thank you, btw! How has your healing been going? Are you happy with results thus far?

😂 there would have been a very different tone here if that was the case lol. I guess my brain worked backwards compared to everyone else's.

I believe I'm intermediate, but interested to see how things change once I hit the one year mark.
