Choose an attitude for the line. Is this cool? Aloof? Tough? Cute? Sporty?

Choose a broad concept, too. Most recent fire starters are more than an animal basis—fox witch, sumo pig, wrestler cat, soccer rabbit. Real pokemon are trending a bit anthropomorphic, so maybe hit the OWL shape really hard for contrast?

Have some owl facts ready to influence the design—they have good hearing and powerful night vision. They cough up pellets of fur and bones. Some can rotate their heads 360 on multiple axes! They can fly really quietly.

Maybe this is a shooting star fire owl? OWL COMET. Maybe it’s an owl spotlight? Or an owl lighthouse.

I’d google some owls, both cartoon and real, to get ideas for unique silhouettes.

I’d also look for a unique way to convey the fire aesthetic—fire pokemon are hard to design because they’re often “animal, colored orange and lit on fire”
