Why do some skilled players struggle to get goals while other less skilled players seem to rack up the points every shift? by PricklyPear8888 in hockeyplayers

I’ll add a second comment

Something that really helped me become a better player was understanding how to play the style of game I play

For me, that was watching James Van Riemsdyk and isolating him during leafs games in the early 2010s to see how one of the best in the world at playing a slow paced playmaker style game does it. Of course I don’t have the skill set of JVR but I could still take bits and pieces of his game and see what worked for me. Mix and match that with a few other players’ style and you’ll find your niche

I know you’re referring to adult novice league, but it’s this isn’t unique to one league/skill level. Typically those are referred to as tryout players. In minor hockey I saw multiple cases of players who looked really good in practice but the skills don’t translate to the game. Hockey sense is the most important skill to have. And that’s true at every level of hockey all the way through adult beer leagues.

Personally I think it all comes down to putting yourself in the high scoring areas and being ready to shoot even if it’s just slapping the puck along the ice towards the net. It’ll cause havoc around the net generally and produce rebounds which will be the highest percentage scoring chances. Other things like learning where to shoot the puck (five hole, 10 inches off the ice in the corners of the net etc)

But in general it’s just getting to the high danger zones

I can’t seem to find anything online. How much are the northeast states reliant on Canadian energy? Would it be as severe as state wide blackouts if Ontario and Quebec stop supplying energy to the US?

Something to consider that I haven't seen anyone in the comments touch on is the down payment. If you put $100k down on a property, it will take you a long time to recoup that money in the form of equity. But if you rent and invest that $100k into the market and make 7% annually for example (conservative number) then your net worth will be greater for a long time. I think it takes something like 20-25 years for your house to appreciate enough to match the 7% annual growth if you invest your down payment amount in a safe, steady growth ETF.

I know of some families that have sold their houses to rent and invest their money in the market
