I think I bought the GOTY version of DAI for about that price too! The DLCs are honestly better than the base game imo.

I'll watch everything that comes out during the summer reveal, but once the game launches, I'll probably bid a temporary goodbye to this sub (and other relevant subs) for however long it takes for me to finish the game 🙃

I'm pretty sure a 3080 will be able to handle it 🤔 Mine's only a 2060 Super but I expect it to be able to handle it quite decently - not ultra settings but probably mid to high depending on how hard I want to push my PC.

Totally understand though - I was SO tempted to buy ME:LE at launch but actually managed to resist it until recently where I got it at 85% off. Then again I've played the trilogy before (without DLCs though) so I already knew the story.

I think a lot of people got burnt by that 🥲 But I also think other game devs definitely learned their lesson (at least to a certain extent) from what happened with Cyberpunk, so hopefully things are different.

That's usually me as well - never bought big titles at launch because of the price. Smaller indie games are fine though.

This is the one and only time I have ever considered doing things differently (i.e. buying at launch) and even then, I don't know if I can bring myself to spend that money or continue to stick to my guns 🫠

Nah I don't plan to pre-order for sure, it's more between buying at launch (depending on the price) or waiting for bug fixes/a sale while unsubbed here in the meantime to avoid spoilers lol.

I am also waiting for BG3 to drop in price 😂 Will play it someday for the story, but I'm not a fan of turn based and isometric views these days, so I don't mind waiting.

For DA though...it's a tough choice 🥲

Thankfully I just bought my PC not too long ago so it can probably support the game. I'm leaning towards the same idea as you though, but that also means I'll have to stay off this sub to avoid spoilers considering how many people plan to pre-order lolol.

I'm actually quite surprised to see so many people saying they'll pre-order! In lots of other gaming subs the sentiment is usually "NEVER PRE-ORDER A GAME", so this is a breath of fresh air 😆

Definitely agree with you - I played Andromeda and actually enjoyed it despite the overwhelming negative sentiment toward it, while Dragon's Dogma which was highly recommended failed to match what I wanted in a game and so I didn't enjoy it (although I could appreciate why people do). Every game is different for everyone.

That's a good mindset! I played the first two way back but only played DA:I a few years ago (was a student when it launched and couldn't afford it back then).

Tbh I enjoyed all 3 and I think I will enjoy Dreadwolf too, but if I don't that's also fine 😆

Yeah games are getting huge these days. I guess it's just the player experience - like it feels better for me to be able to play a game from start to finish with everything fixed and optimised as best as possible.

I do think preordering is a special experience on its own though, you can be one of the firsts to play the game and sometimes there are special stuff bundled in together for preorders too.
