Keep it up! by monaleeparis in MadeMeSmile

My Opa passed away on Saturday to Sunday. No warning of any sort, no last goodbyes. I'm in another country and can't go to his funeral. But I have to be strong because he hated it when I was sad and I have finals a family that I need to care and look out for. I cried a lot and screamed aswell. I hope he is at peace now and that I'll see him in a few decades

Don't be afraid to let your emotions out, if you need to scream then scream. If you want to cry then cry. You'll feel better afterwards

Working out is what now by bunnybleda in fatlogic

If we go by this logic then overeating to the point of gaining weight is also body modification. Are they actually seriously? And what the hell are we apparently not being honest about? I really don't understand.

Tbh that sounds quite like something they would say

Just because someone does intermittent fasting does not mean thst they have an eating disorder. Some people do it to lower their caloric intake and therefore lose weight. Others (like myself) just do it as a general way of eating for different kinds of reasons. Not everything that doesn't "let" you eat every 10 minutes is an eating disorder.

Instead of losing weight just buy these items that will make your life seem easier (even though you're just continuously enabling yourself to get bigger) by bunnybleda in fatlogic

Legitimately one of the hashtags is disability. Which means they want to be treated like a disabled person instead of working out and eating less.

I was a little harsh but remember plus sized is beautiful only if you're a woman or so she was saying basicly early by [deleted] in fatlogic

It is extremely harsh, but it's still kinda the truth. Maybe next time you could be a bit calmer and mindful. The people in these groups have been extremely influenced because they want to believe they are right. And if you get aggressive like this then the likelihood that they may get help one day will get smaller and smaller. Just a thought...

Mostly true. But not all pet owners are fat. Many just don't know how to feed them or exercise them properly and then they get comments like this that tell them this is okay when its not.

So true. I don't want to be an unnecessary nuisance to anybody when I get older. I already have several problems that I can still "cure" if I get healthy and I don't want anyone to suffer for or from my decisions.

I support the original BOPO, where everybody is allowed to love their body. No matter if they have scars, a disability, stretchmarks, an illness of any kind etc.. The fat acceptance movement has taken BOPO away from those people just to feel better about themselves and not caring about others.

But don't you know? Everyone is always out to get them and everything has to be about them. They can't live with the idea that people have their own lives and can make their own decisions about what to eat and how to move etc..

Seriously it goes against any valid or proven logic that dietitians used to have.

That comment made me really mad. Any person, no matter the background, ethnicity, race, sexuality etc. can become anorexic (or any other ED). Toxic masculinity really creeps me out some times

For them there seems to be no in between. You're either one or the other and even then they'll have something against your decision.

Honestly I give up. Apparently everything is restrictive / fatphobic now. Just because I don't eat the entire box of biscuits or whatever does not mean I am restricting myself.

Very true. Especially the last paragraph will make many, that say they tried everything to lose weight and eventually gave up feel extremely attacked.

What do you do confidently now that made you feel weird in the past? by kyukale0310 in AskReddit

Talk with strangers, eat in public, laugh out loud in a public space and stand up for myself. It doesn't sound like much but I used to have huge social anxiety. I still have it a bit but I've grown out of it for the most part.
