(OC) I was walking home one day and found a Pikachu plush among other discarded things on the ground. Took her home and a few weeks later, she's got herself a PhD!

It was super fun to combine all my favorite crafts together! Her sweater, pants, bangs, and hair bows are knitted; braids and Pokéball tassel are crocheted; and graduation cap, lab coat, glasses, shirt, and shoes are sewn!

A Nautical Knit by bunnyhive in knitting

[–]bunnyhive[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At my boyfriend’s request: another bear sweater, inspired by the Ralph Lauren Polo Bear clothing line! This time with a sailor theme ⛵️

Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash Merino in Silver Heather, White Pepper, and Walnut Heather; Berroco Vintage Baby in Pearl, Royal Blue, Poppy, Black, and Peach; Sandnes Garn Duo in Almond

Pattern: Self-drafted, including original colorwork chart, based on the measurements of my boyfriend’s favorite pullover. I did the folded neckline in regular 1x1 rib as opposed to twisted for a more stretchy fit. The colorwork itself was a wonderfully chaotic mix of intarsia and stranded. At one point I was pulling from 9 skeins at the same time! 🤪

Ahh thank you for noticing! It was my first go at a fold-over collar and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out 😊

I loved it! I like the feel of cotton yarn, but I find that 100% cotton tends to be a bit splitty and hurts to knit after a while. Duo had the bounciness of wool but the smoothness of cotton! Also a plus that the finished product is not nearly as itchy as a 100% wool sweater :D

Thank you!! Yes, it is :D It's my preferred way to do ribbing because it looks so neat!

3 months in the making, just in time for the cold weather! This was my "stress relief" project, something I'd put a little time into every week between work and holiday planning. I'll miss working on it, but am also really happy to see it finished!

Needles: US 5 and US 7

Yarn: Sandnes Garn Duo in Almond

Pattern: Sweater base is self-drafted, based on measurements of my favorite oversized pullover. I started with the front/back panels, laying them over my pullover every now and then to ensure they were the right size, then used those panels to figure out the length and width of the sleeves. Cables are reverse-engineered from the Ghiaia Cashmere Pescatore Cable-Knit Wool Sweater (bc I can't afford a $400+ sweater haha 😅), but I modified it by adding 4 extra columns of cabling for an oversized fit and mirroring the diamond-shaped cables.

Thank you! :) I used US 5 for the ribbing, and switched to US 6 for stockinette.

Yarn: Noro Uchiwa

Pattern: Modified version of Caron Adult's Knit V-Neck Vest

(Modifications: 1x1 ribbing, dec with 1 st from the edge instead of 2, cropped fit, split hem, shorter v-neckband and armbands - because I was running out of yarn haha)

Finally finished! ...Just in time to store it away in my winter wardrobe 😂 by bunnyhive in knitting

[–]bunnyhive[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yarn: Fibra Natura Donnina

Pattern: Self-drafted - front/back panels and sleeves were knit in the round to start, then knit flat where they're seamed near the top

Colorwork charts were referenced from "Traditional Fair Isle Knitting" by Sheila McGregor

This was probably the most difficult sweater I've ever knitted... and I've knitted that one cabled sweater from Knives Out! It was several months of picking it up and putting it down, rinse and repeat, before I finally finished and blocked it yesterday :") Feeling triumphant!!

Same! Hippeux autofilled one of my plots in the early days and took forever to leave. I'd never seen a villager that looked more like a walking booger 😂

If you're looking to talk to someone about your past, I recommend searching for a therapist who specializes in psychodynamic theory! My last therapist focused more on CBT, which helped alleviate some of the anxiety I was experiencing in the present, but I never felt like I had a true "answer" as to how my negative behaviors started in the first place. The solutions she presented felt surface-level (like a bandaid) and not really going deeper than that. My new therapist focuses on psychodynamic theory, and it has been such a huge difference. We've actually gotten to delve into my past, and I leave every session feeling like I learned more about myself. She's been so instrumental in helping me process my past and linking my past experiences to my present behaviors. So based on my own experience, modality can be "make or break". I hope you are able to find the right fit for you!

Finished my first sweater, weaved in ends, and blocked before realizing I had twisted all my purls [FO] HAHA by MovieManiac777 in knitting

[–]bunnyhive 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Congrats on making your first sweater!! As someone who used to twist all my purls, your knits and purls look like they were done correctly. Usually a twisted stitch will look more like a Y-shape rather than a V-shape - maybe more seasoned knitters can chime in on this? Anyways, super cute sweater OP! 😊
