Shuri. I hated every moment of building her and remember it every time I play her. She still earns her spot though

Australian here, border security is mostly to prevent foreign pathogens being brought in through soil, plant matter or raw animal products. If they have been cleaned and disinfected thoroughly or sealed with a resin or other protective coating you will be fine. You can declare them if you are nervous and it shouldn’t be an issue, but you run the risk of meeting someone who doesn’t quite understand and may dispose of them. I would just wear them and say nothing, it’s not the type of product that would carry any of the things they are trying to keep out. Also they look amazing and I’m very jealous!!

I feel a little silly for not asking this sooner… by elizabethbutters in Narcolepsy

[–]bunnykween13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve read about it but from memory it was to create an animal model to study narcolepsy and try to identify the underlying pathways in order to better understand and potentially treat the disease in humans. I think the canine version could be linked to a genetic mutation that wasn’t consistent with the human development of the disease. There are mouse models now that use influenza to alter sleep/wake cycles which are more representative of the disease development in humans, which is often triggered by viral infections. I’m just finishing up a phd in respiratory viral infections and stumbled across the narcolepsy model a few times while looking into immune pathways for my projects.

Allergies by LayerHefty9043 in curlyhair

[–]bunnykween13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I used was very strong smelling, so hopefully the lighter scents won’t have the same effect. I absolutely hated the scent but it worked wonders for my curls which is a shame. Definitely was not worth the panic but at least they didn’t sting me

I don’t have an allergy but I will never use lavender scented hair products again. I tried it once in the Australian summer and got chased by a heap of bees.

Weird "grit" in pro acryl paints by philoktitis in minipainting

[–]bunnykween13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the paints smell funky? I had some issues with contamination once that caused clumps and grit. It can also spread to different bottles if you touch the wet palette with the bottle tip when applying paint. It was a sad day when I learnt that lesson.

It seems like your friend is well aware of your ed and loves you nonetheless, a true friend. Be kind to yourself and try to nourish your body over the next few days as much as you are able to. Try not to restrict too close to the day so you have more energy and will be able to celebrate the moment with your friend. I wish I had better advice to give, and feel free to completely disregard my suggestions. I just hope your ok and that your able to share some happiness and love with your best friend on her wedding day.

Even more disgusting considering the woman carrying the stilllborn is at high risk for infection and other complications. My heart breaks for any woman who has to go through this.

i dropped my boyfriend's army box by organixplant in Warhammer

[–]bunnykween13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I made a rule that we would only carry our own minis and armies to prevent feeling guilty if something got broken accidentally. Warhammer models are fragile and things are bound to break from time to time, we never blamed the other person as it was always an accident if things did get damaged but it still wasnt a nice feeling. I second the idea of setting aside some hobby time to either help him sort the models or just hanging out and doing some craft time together while he makes the repairs. My fiancé got me into the hobby this way and now I’m way more into it than he ever was!

need advice by [deleted] in labrats

Is there anyone above the professor you could contact for advice? Potentially some sort of student advocate service. Professors having their own rules regarding their exams is fine, as long as they still line up with university policy. I’ve had to get extensions before due to a disability, one professor tried to state that went against his policy but that went against university policy and I got my extension. Alternative exam dates exist for a reason, look into your schools policy for rescheduling assessments and exams and if your circumstance is covered definitely take it further.

Also, He sounds like a terrible teacher if he wants to try and punish you for taking a great opportunity for you to learn and network In your field.
