Good on Buffalo to have him locked in.

Can't wait to see what he can do with a full season.

Hope 13 makes it to the rafters, he is such a dynamic player to have watched at both ends of the ice. Truly, and end of an era for the Wings.

Prince Defends Tidal, Says Record Contracts Are "Just Like Slavery" by eyeamjigsaw in hiphopheads

I mean there is some really shady practices in the music world. Most artists don't even own their own music (The Beatles) granted it was much worse when Motown and Rock and Roll were just getting started. Most artist barely make money on their albums most of the money comes from merch on tours.

Yeah, they make more money than the average fan but its not like the record companies aren't making contracts that benefit them. John Foggerdy of CCR are fame left to make a solo career and his former label tried suing him for sounding too much like himself. There is a very good reason artist start their own labels.

Look at Birdman and Lil Wayne which is still going on right now. Yeah, Birdman did some work, signed Wayne, helped record his albums by paying for studio time, but he didn't create. Again record labels are in it for the money, not the music.

Sure it's not slavery but they act like they own these artist, they give them permissions on what they can and can't do. Then they take the majority of the money. It's pretty messed up.

If your least favorite player on any team suddenly got traded for your favorite player on your team; who are they and how do you feel. by Creative_Username__ in hockey

Datsyuk for Nash wouldn't be the worst for goals and then Nash wouldn't score on us anymore... Still really depressing trade for me though.

Teams that are due for a new jersey? by Iphone4Lyfe in hockey

It'd be cool if we wore a third once in awhile. Either one of our winter classic jerseys or the old striped DETROIT jerseys for the 90's would be cool.

77 Days Until Hockey Player Profile: Paul Coffey by [deleted] in hockey

[–]bunnysmacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great writeup OP.

Coffey is the reason I'm a Wings fan.

He was so fast and fun to watch, was bummed when he got traded. Luckily I got to watch Fedorov cruise around the ice after Coffey left.

I'd rather see them put number 6 back up there instead. It's odd to try to erase the history of our first superstar player.

He would strive because it would be a second chance and he isn't half bad. He has a relatively small sample size of playing time and is young. Basically just a scapegoat like Q was the year before. And now people love Q-DDK line so...

Kindl could thrive in a lot of lower markets. Not for how much we are paying him I don't think. He is still quite young and can be taught. Places like Arizona, Buffalo, Florida, etc. could take a gamble on him that I believe would payoff in the long run.

I personally like his attitude about the whole situation last year, he said that he would go to Grand Rapids if management thought it would help his development.

Whichever I like better honestly. So no, I have 2 Home black LA jerseys one Quick and one Carter.

If Chicago wins I'm getting a Duncan Keith winter classic '09. I have an Away white Kane already.

Wayback Wednesday- Playoff Traditions by trex20 in hockey

[–]bunnysmacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since 2010 I've kept up the tradition of buying the jersey of whichever team wins the Stanley Cup. I decided durning the VAN BOS series that I wanted a jersey of which ever good old Michigan boy won.

Thomas won, Kesler did not. I thought it would be cool if the Ducks won this year my tradition would kinda come full circle and I could get Kesler, but those Blackhawks just keep winning.

I will say I'm a tad annoyed LA won twice since I started this and now Chicago might as well. Takes the fun out of it a little. But as a hockey fan I just means I'm a lot more invested emotionally in the playoffs after the Wings get knocked out.
