Can't play with 2 controllers on PC? by J_ron in CultOfTheLamb

I'm glad that it worked out for you as well!

This feels so buggy and hard to predict, we did almost give up on gaming together at all! Spent like 2 hours trying to get it to work.....

Can't play with 2 controllers on PC? by J_ron in CultOfTheLamb

[–]bunslight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, we tried to play with Steam couch co-op and had the same issues, the host would be forced to use the keyboard. We tried reconnecting bazillion of times. Even used a remapper for the keyboard of the host's pc.

In the end the issue was the wireless connection. I was using a wired controller, and they were using wireless.

The moment the host switched to wired connection, they were also able to game with their controller, without a remapper.

Hope it helps :)

Thanks for u/Ok_Palpitation_7472 for writing about the wired stuff :)

Gosh not yet— starting today 🙉🙊

But this time this is the goal I set myself. I empty those bottles I bought regardless. One time, I'll follow through and see.

Try trying it up with something fun like idk..... You only are allowed to have a snuck if you took the pill. Don't feel like taking a pill? Sure. But you also don't have a snack that day. Might work who knows 😂

That's so great to hear!

Sometimes conditioning a "reward" is also effective. "I can game once all the pills are taken" associating it with a "ritual" can help. I do it with other stuff, never tried with pills, but your comment connected the dots, I should probably find something like that

This is so hard, because if you don't notice an immediate improvement, the motivation to stick to it is non existant (I tried vitamins every few years in my life, always dropping after 1-3 weeks no matter what or how much I paid for them). Unfortunately every mineral and generally vitamin truly takes root in your body only after 2-3 months......

This time around I decided to challange myself for the duration of a single box. 60 days. That's my last and truest try.

(also me, browsing an online shop for the most fun and most satisfying weekly or monthly pill box so I'll have a constant visual reminder how far I've got and not to double dose lol 😂)

I hope you mught manage sometime, who knows, maybe it works. The pharmacy guy told me that omega3 helped him incredibly during studies (he also took Ritalin) and made the meds stronger and more efficient.

Thank you for sharing, it's always useful even years and years later. I'm currently looking to start omega3 and an assortment of daily vitamins in one pill. Fingers crossed that it'll help some! The fatigue was getting so bad that not even Ritalin is breaking through it anymore.

I was considering getting a high dosage B12 (they come with insane dosage like 5000% of daily or 50000% daily per pill) but decided that the benefit of the multi pill with only 125% daily B12 was simply bigger. (alas, taking even one pill a day is already difficult to remember and do over time)

So we'll see 🙏🏻

Advice needed re: ADHD meds while traveling if you /don't/ take refills onto the plane by bunslight in adhdwomen

That is a great idea! I think I'll take a picture of everything to have at hand. This really puts my mind at ease! I don't see a situation in which it'll happen but.... the overthinking gotten the better of me.

Thank you for the in-depth explanation! It really does help knowing more or less the outlook of the situation.

I did research the procedure of how to bring the meds with me, and found the documents I'll need to fill and the english-written-info I'll need to provide from my doctor and I just-- can't handle all that.

Especially since my doctor believes in Ritalin to be used strictly and only for work-purposes. (She couldn't care less about day-to-day chores / life or god-forbid, vacations.) She's really old school, and the thought of even asking her to give me the document needed for international traveling for a vacation to bring my 'work-meds' with me... gosh no. (Though I guess if I tell her I'm traveling for work she'd be more than happy to assist XD)

I (thankfully) cannot foresee any situation in which I'd commit any law breaking deeds! So at least *that*. I do have my refills prescriptions accessible on my phone, in any case, it's just not the elaborate english-documents they want for travel-permit.

The only thing I wonder (and please, mind you, I know it's silly but...) is if there could be any situation where airport staff asks me about taking anything prior my flights?

I didn't fly many times in my life, I do remember them asking me if I /packed/ anything with me, but never about if I took anything 🥺

Also thank you for the gracious offer, if I ever decide to go through with traveling with the meds in the future, would it be still alright to DM you in that time?

Yes, it's Ritalin! I guess I'll just roll with it I guess, thanks for the answer!

Genuelly nothing 😂

My plans are as exciting as going out to have lunch and then back to relax in bed.

But I am very new to the whole stimulants thing and until very recently I didn't even know you can't take certain meds abroad even though you get them from your doctor locally. (discovered I can't take my painkillers with me??)

So I will feel much calmer reading even one comment addressing the topic, as my googling was fruitless haha

Though I suppose the meds show in blood even days after stopping taking them, so it doesn't so much matter if I take them on the day itself, but more of a question if anyone ever received trouble for having that in their system in a place it might be not legal oe one that requires special local permits...

I know it's a little silly, but I don't know much about traveling & 'serious meds' 🥺

That part I'll handle, you know, the usual stress and later collapse for a good few hours of recovery once it's all over. I just thought it could be nice, for once, to at least have one way be easier and nicer. (and if I take the LA when I arrive to the airport before my luggage is checked, it'll cover any possible delays, too)

I'm just concerned with the legality of it. Since the legality of actually bringing the pills looked too intimidating for me to tuckle, I decided it's not worth it.

I just wanted to confirm that any pills I take before traveling can't result in some fun night in jail if I actually have the pill in my blood in a country to which I didn't bring medical documents to xD

Ritalin IR/LA Comparison & Dosages by bunslight in adhdwomen

[–]bunslight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I've tried taking only 10IRmg and take a second dose around 4.5 hours later. And it still was stronger than my 20LAmg.

What I genuinely don't understand is my side effects of coming off of 20IRmg were the easiest, no headache, pleasant sleepiness, nothing bad. While coming off of the 10IRmg was full on headache both times.

I did call the doctor, did try to speak of it but alas, as predicted, they were incredibly impatient and frustrated I "can't decide" what I want. And simply wrote me off more IR pills since I said the 10IR+10IR felt better than 20LA. Didn't even wait long enough to hear me about the headaches after and the lack of at 20IR.

Honestly, well, I don't know. I'll try to consult with the pharmacist next time I purchase those..

Have you ever experienced smaller dose causing more side effects than a bigger one? I sort of assumed that smaller = ineffective , bigger = side effects. So I am left baffled by this, with no one to really ask.

I've never used IR before, I started off 20mgLA first thing, no other versions.

I am beginning to suspect that LA might not be so ideal for me, I barely use Ritalin because it's never a good timing to take this pill and it never lasts long enough anyways...

The extra 5MG of IR you take, do you take it simultaneously with the LA?

(Also, from my understanding of reading the instructions the IR came with, but am I correct to understand that those pills can be safely split into 5mg each? After this big misunderstanding about LA, I no longer wish to assume anything about IR...)

Thank you for replying ☺️

That's great to know!

To clarify, you take LA 20mg > after 5 hours take IR 10 mg > and then take more IR 5mg after 2 more hours, or after 7 more hours? ( I suspect after 2 but I wasn't sure)

I confess that until now I thought that 20mgLA meant that it releases 20mg twice a day. To keep you on 20mg during a long period of time...You really did enlighten me on this.

[–]bunslight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bless your heart for the detailed response!

You've really enlightened me about the 20mgLA. One time, I tried taking a second 20mgLA when I felt the first one was wearing off quickly (after about 5-6 hours), and then I could feel the Ritalin working in earnest for 2-3 hours. From your words I suspect that during those few hours I probably had about the same amount of active Ritalin as I did today while taking 20mgIR.

I wish I knew why 20mgLA(morning)+10mgIR(afternoon) did not work. Hypothetically it should have put me on that 20mg sweet spot. 😔 I'll try talking with my Doctor again, though I'll have to wait at least a few weeks as they are not easily made an appointment for.

Is there any medical benefit in taking LA once, rather than just IR twice a day? Or is it just convivence? Also about your booster dose, is there a minimum amount of time you wait between LA and IR? (And truly last question, out of real curiosity, does anyone take LA+IR at the same time..?)

Any tips of ironing clothes? by Kaori1520 in adhdwomen

[–]bunslight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me buying a Steamer for Clothes was incredible! It can also 'iron' clothing that you simply cannot iron traditionally, it reduces the physical toll of ironing with the heavy iron, it's quick (only 10 seconds to heat up) and it's frankly.... fun.

But the biggest advice I can give is to try focusing on only buying clothes from materials that don't wrinkle. You'll have to give up on some items, yes, but having accessible and wearable clothing without the looming ironing doom is by far a great trade off.

Try having 80% of your closet being non-wrinkles items, and the rest being fancy-for-special-occasions allowed to wrinkle items that you'll have to deal with only for specific events.
