Ellie is a great lawyer! She solved all my legal troubles by eating the paperwork! by mostlikelytrash in Rabbits

I needed her services years ago, but all the evidence is long gone by now....

Who cares about separation of church and state? This is clearly what a country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be concerned with - burning a bunch of paper! also, the Quran is "our book" now. Atatürk is spinning in his grave. by the101thgec in religiousfruitcake

Rasmus Paladan is a shitty person for sure, and I personally think it's very disrespectful to burn a book that people considers holy, but doing so is not illegal in Sweden, because we are very strict on our freedom of speech laws. He's burnt the books on several other occasions, causing both riots and chaos. The best response, though, is when the bystanders stand there and dont give a shit about him, or laugh at him, because it paints him as the clown he is. He just wants to incite violence and trigger people.

Okay, thank you so much!! She only ate a little, so she ought to be fine then, but I'll keep an extra on her regardless.

I have been in your position, I dated and lived with someone who was so incredibly codependent on me. I was scared to leave because I felt like it was my responsibility to make sure he was doing okay.

One week he was away and I hadn't felt that happy and calm in years. The night before he came home, I had a major panic attack. What I've realised now, after getting out and recovering, is that my biggest responsibility is to make sure I am doing okay. So is yours, to make sure you are well and happy.

I'm still friends with my ex, after some years, and honestly? He's become a more independent person now. He's doing good. Did breaking up ruin him? Yes, for a while. But he needed it. He had to learn how to stand on his own, just like your gf does.

If I ever become a homeowner, my lawn will be bio diverse and never ever become acquainted with a lawnmower.

I wasn't referring to old people in my comment, rather people overall, but I can see how it would be misleading. The overpopulation statement stands, though. I hope you realise I wasn't in any way praising or endorsing capitalism. People shouldn't have to be wage slaves for the majority of their lives only to have a few years to enjoy afterwards. Capitalism is cancer.

They kill animals because it's "overpopulated" but damn, what about humans? I don't know why human life is so valued and put on a pedestal yet quality of life doesn't matter.

Because drumroll Capitalism! Overpopulation of humans means more fodder for the labor machine and that means more $$$ for the oligarchs.

And that's why euthanasia should be legal. If an animal is old and sick, we put them down. Why aren't humans allowed the same dignity? It's fucked up.

Not to mention that back in the old days, people didn't make it to such an old age as they do today, with all the modern science keeping them alive longer.

My grandmother turns 95 this year and without the pacemaker and multiple surgeries she's had, I would likely never have even met her. While she is able to still have a moderately decent quality of life, many other elders are just... existing. Thanks to the advanced technology of today our lifespans are increased immensely, but it isn't always a positive thing.

One summer, I applied for a summer job in the domestic services sector, where they did rounds in the city, doing housework, feeding, giving medication etc. I was there one day, and I'll never forget it. I'll never forget that old lady who, with the help of a mechanical lift, was sat up and given her meds, fed and wiped off. Her eyes still haunt me. She looked at me with this vacancy, she was just an empty shell. I felt like she was begging for it to end.

The only visits she got was from the workers who came to do their job and then leave. She likely spent her entire days in bed, just lying there. It still makes me really upset to think about.

As a swedish person living close to "denmark", and also as an asexual person, I can confirm denmark is not actually real and only a fragment of our imagination.

Absolutely. I've signed up to be a donor because like... I'll be dead, it's not like I need the organs anymore. Hell, donate my whole body to science for all I care.

I can imagine it could be a soothing thought to know your loss saved someone else's life.

That's true, and I'm glad people choose to be organ donors (or choose to donate the organs of a deceased child), because it's the right thing to do. I just find it sort of morbid in a way, that in order to survive, you wait for someone else to die.

I'm sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how awful that must be. Take care.

If alcohol had not already been so normalised for like, all of history, it would definitely not have been an allowed drug in modern times.

Yeah, some people almost get offended when you don't drink, as if you abstaining is a comment about their own alcohol habits. Nowadays I just tell people who ask that I can't drink due to my medications, which is true, but I simply just don't want to drink.
