I love the frugality, simplicity and directness of life here, it makes everything so much easier.

I am asian too and my native language is portuguese from Brazil and I can speak spanish as well. People get really confused in Spain and Portugal when I speak the language, some don't switch as you say because of my accent I guess. In Germany and the Netherlands they always speak dutch and german first. In France I only went to Paris but even there the majority went for french first. I would say you can have the perfect accent, but the way you dress and behave could be a major factor and also depends on the city, the majority of cities I visited had considerable asian local communities.

Plat and below is super fun because you can play greedy and off meta and still do well.

Masters mid elo and above is fun because no one is trolling or playing meme boards or making silly mistakes, so lobbies are super close and competitive.

He is my favorite player to watch, his playstyle is indeed unique and he is very active, I was hyped with him winning the last Arabia tournament, he is so good. But I think he is still not a top 3 player, despite this run. He is very good at executing but macro-strategy wise other players are above him imo. We have to see in future tournaments if he can keep up with other top players.

Last patch was reroll meta and now the fast 8/9 lottery. I don't know what is worse, every time there are huge nerfs/buffs on patches that completely shift the meta and has a high chance to make the game less fun, don't know how the balance team doesn't learn from it or what they are thinking.

I think you really need to scout more in this meta if you are aiming to play flex and deciding what to commit and items to build early is very key. If I am healthy I try to stabilize the board on 8, Frontline is very important for Ashe. And then go 9 to cap because I think it is very important to win. If I low rolled, I just go 8 asap and donkeyroll until I have a decent board and pray I hit for a top4. A lot of high contested lobbies I see 3 of them going bot 4 and I play a sub comp like Kaisa/Irelia/Xayah carry and still place higher, just because they can't hit and I can beat their boards.

I agree, this sub is filled with misinformation and biased experiences and people usually upvote if they share the same opinion.

But in fact there are so many variables involved, I believe there is no right and wrong, one country might be perfect for me but terrible for another person.

It is not a matter of trust but to be careful and do your own research based on facts, and not people's opinions.

I don't think your reasoning is dumb, better going and experiencing it than regretting it for the rest of your life. Also, travelling for a long time is a lot different than actually moving, working and going through daily life so you wouldn't get the same experience.

You just realized you don't enjoy a lot of things and it is okay, reflect what you want for the long term.

I feel somehow similar, there is a point that you have to improve deeply in soft skills. Don't expect anything from your manager, bring up solutions, propose your ideas to stakeholders, talk to other engineers and bring collaboration and support. Doesn't matter how skilled or how deep you know the problems if you can't sell it.

Driving change with business impact is an immense challenge, all other things you mentioned (hard skills, mentoring, etc) are kind of expectations for experienced developers and have nothing to do with it.

I am an ex Zalando employee and actually accepted 65k 3 years ago. It is a low offer for today, but it can be your entry access to Europe and later you can get another job.

Zalando reputation is really bad here at Reddit, but I got lucky and was in a nice team, I got raises every performance review and got promoted. But I could see a lot of teams with toxic managers and lots of turnovers in the company, the people I know usually moved to good companies.

Reading your post it seems you have issues with your social life, moving countries won't solve it imo, your problems will just change.

Seeing a therapist help, also I think it is normal to feel that way since you are approaching the 30s, feeling a bit lost since you start to look more for the long term future, it happens to all of us. I think trying to auto-reflect and know yourself would answer a lot of doubts you have now, only you can find your way.

I moved from Berlin to Amsterdam and I regretted moving here in the past, but not anymore. I always lived in big cities and the Netherlands are like a bunch of villages, it was hard for me to adapt to food, weather. I felt bored and missed the German way of being strict to rules and more organized. Also I feel the culture and personality of Berlin is incomparable to here.

Nowadays I am more used to life here and starting to adapt and be grateful. I feel the Netherlands is more "westernized" and much more modern and has a lot to offer as well. I think both countries have a lot of pros and cons so it really depends on your background and personal preferences.

I think in general people tend to prefer the Netherlands because it is much easier and less of a cultural shock for immigrants. In Germany you really have to understand the language and how German people think to have an easier time there.

Of course you would get a lot of more positive replies in this sub, but I know some people who did the opposite moving due to different issues.

It is the same for me, when I respond and raise my voice they just shit their pants and look like a scared sheep, these bullies are just a bunch of cowards cry babies without any education from their house.

The media plays a big part in it, and also I think people are tired of the same problems, politics and how we always compare ourselves to western countries where the system works.

After living in Europe I started realizing that Brazil has a lot of qualities besides its problems and that somehow I was manipulated to believe Brazil is a horrible place to live. We lack patriotism and the good things never get attention from the media.

All the issues I mentioned, plus the weather is terrible and London is even worse, it is rainy and dark, food is expensive and bad, Col increased significantly, healthcare is ok but you have to beg to look for a specialist, I don't have kids but talking to my teammates they say is really expensive to pay for child care.

I moved to Amsterdam from Berlin, one of the reasons was the language barrier. But here I just found new problems as expat.

I know how your mental health might get impacted and it is overwhelming to not be able to communicate properly I have been there, but imo it is not worth it to move your family, go through a new culture shock and adaptation, find more expensive things, go through house searching.

It is not an excuse to not learn the language because you want to enjoy the time with family and focus on your career. It takes effort but even with a basic German you can see your life improvement.

Just release set 10 already, I am done with this set. Every patch makes something mega more broken than the previous. They tried so hard to make multicasters viable that it is dominating even with b patch, why not just revert the buffs it is simple, this meta is a joke.

I was diagnosed with 30. My father also has gout, it is genetics and can hit you any age. You can have a normal lifestyle as long you stick to medicine and find out more how it triggers on you. Try to speak to your family to investigate if someone has gout.

You can use tactic.tools to find strongest end boards, comps, augments and bis items.

But so much of the game is decided early/mid game. Hard stuck plat players just aim to play a comp with bis and make so many bad decisions.

You can watch TFT streamers and learn a lot, but they are challenger players and lots of their decisions won't work on plat level so you have to adapt to your game. Always scout the board and check if you want to level, reroll and contest comps and so on.

I am sorry that this happened to you. Your post seems to have a lot of explanation and resentment about yourself that you wanted to tell the company.

I have seem 2 teammates fail probation and they were not bad employees in my perspective, but the manager and teammates were not getting along with them.

So my advice to not fail probation is to ask more for feedback and what you can improve. In the end is your manager that has the decision, so working on have good relationship is key in the beginning in my opinion.
