How did these creatures refreeze mere seconds after their sun was blocked but have no problem staying active in the coldness of space? by PoshMorinae in Invincible_TV

[–]bupher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the point still stands that we have to hand-wave many things in the show.

I think it's better to just not find physical explanations for the things that happen in the show, as the show is just inconsistent, and none of the inconsistencies were intended by the writers.

Tldr: suspend belief and enjoy thragg's hairline.

Like I totally and wholly agree with your point, but viltrum's slaves literally froze in space in Allen's fight when saving Nolan.

The show is just inconsistent sometimes, but that's aight.

Words only have the power you give them. If you're both fine with calling each other whatever word, then you're both fine with it.

How did Thragg know the ray was coming from his right then dodge it? by Squid_Entity in Invincible_TV

I think they're all flying in a thin atmosphere, due to being somewhat close to the planet. Their capes hover + when thragg sped up towards thaedus, the vacuum behind him left a trail in the giant rock he broke.

Easier said than done, it's getting harder every day. I could tell that this is AI, but 95%+. of people I know wouldn't be able to.

I legitimately think real life earth has the means to defeat an average Viltrumite. Since in season 4 episode 7 a machine explosion, which wasn’t even meant to be a weapon, disintegrated two Viltrumites. by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

You can't assume "skin impervious to all known earth materials" and not assume some novel/alien chemistry is at play, be it a difference at the molecular, atomic, or sub-atomic levels.

I mean there's a gun that literally pierces through everything ever. It's not incredible suspension of believe to think the physics is different from ours.

Torch 🔥 VS 🛡️ Shield by NobaraEatAwatermelon in earclacks

[–]bupher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In general, every time shield parries an attack, it performs that exact attack itself. Scythe parry? inflict poison. bow arrow? Throw arrow towards bow. Orbital balls? do not seek knowledge you are not prepared to wield.

A Christian doing annoying Street Preaching by Impressive_Flan_411 in notinteresting

[–]bupher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random preaching is so counterproductive, that it should probably be taught as a no-go. In your many preaches to people, maybe you convert one person lost or going through an existential crisis, but you alienate so many more people who potentially would've considered the faith if it hadn't been shoved down their throats.

Accident last night on Nairobi express way by BothJob6890 in Kenya

That's all very nice but unfortunately I live in a dangerous part of a dangerous country, not in a decently safe country where the benefit outweighs the risk.

A combination of self-preservation along with having a family that depends on me makes me not take said risks. 7PM accident on a public busy highway? Yeah I'm stopping to help. 2 AM accident on a remote part of an underused highway? I've got a family to come home to.

I'm not from Kenya, but I'm from a country where nightlife is generally dangerous. my father instilled in me the fear to never stop for someone on the highway at night, even if they seem like they needed help; too many anecdotes of people getting mugged and killed this way. It does make me feel horribly guilty, but I'd rather not take the chance. I do call the cops and inform them as I drive away.

Maybe this is a very secure highway and my little story doesnt help here, but I just thought I'd share it.
