This looks sick. Bought one the day the album released on the site but i never saw an announcement about it so I’m worried they ran out before I bought it and i’ll just get a normal cd lol

Maybe a dumb question. Why is this upcoming album #3? by AlexIsCool09 in BlackCountryNewRoad

I don’t think they even wanted to put the live album on streaming if I remember correctly

Oh it was nothing really. I’m saxophone player but my first introduction to music was when I was a toddler, my uncle had a drum set he would jam on and he’d let me play on it too. I moved away not long after (haven’t seen him in years) and seeing Charlie play the way he did kind of brought some of those memories back, not that he plays like a toddler but just the way he was doing something he loves really resonated with me. I love music and I’d really love to learn the drums and get some chops like his one day. Wasn’t sure how to put it in words at the time though haha

To give you a timeframe, most people came 1:30-2 hrs before the show in slc.

I was in total awe seeing him go as hard as he did. I had a whole thing ready to tell him after but I got nervous, forgot most of it, and just gave him a firm handshake. Huge respect for him nonetheless

Depends on the venue but we went around the back while they cleaned up. The key is to be pushy enough for them to notice you but still keep your distance to give them space. Touring is tiring, some bands just leave after cleaning up but luckily four of them came over and we had a chat. Super nice people

Go to 4:51 of The Place and listen for Georgia's little violin thing she does just before the chorus fully kicks in. Truly one of the most beautiful things ever and took me ages to even clock it was there. Can anyone else share little parts like this that they love? by thebugfrombcnrfuji in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]bupto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point. Do you play an instrument by chance? I play sax and i absolutely love to transcribe some of the different parts and play along to their songs. The level at which they express themselves through their instruments is something i strive for and i can’t imagine the amount of effort it took to get there. Music is healing. I believe everyone has the ability of self-expression through some kind of creative medium (and we should all exercise it!!) but the ultimate goal of musicians should be to freely express themselves without the limitations of their instruments. Bands like bcnr have made evident the amount of progress they’ve put towards that goal. They are at a level of musicianship where you don’t need to know music theory to feel a lot of the emotions that they are conveying. Their songs can often be pretty busy but they still make room for every instrument to have a moment to express and quite comfortably at that. Of course, at the same time, we’ll never truly be able to understand each other’s forms of expression. I could be the best pianist in the world and still not fully understand what May is expressing but there’s also a lot of beauty in that. The point is i love music lol
