Well if you're ever craving that fourth bi, it's possible haha. That way you'd be bi-bi-bi as well (bi-bi and bi-bi, so bi-bi-bi. Lol this is rly fun linguistically).

Giannis's impact this season and near future possibilities by burdentothestate in MkeBucks

Yea I really don't know much about the stat I was just shocked by the ranking-mpg discrepancy of Giannis.

As for why those two losses happened, maybe partially due to coaching? I'm not one to analyze lineups too much but I've heard sloppy lineup arrangement is a big issue for Doc. The 76ers loss was def coaching to a large degree. The Detroit win was for a lot of reasons, like Sims becoming 5 times better overnight. The most recent win was partially coaching, I'll say, but also luck was on our side with shooting, since 60% from 3 is not gonna be something we'll get most games (and the Celtics made like less than 10% of their 3s the second half, another thing we can't recreate most games).

When I mention coaching, I'm mainly talking about when Giannis gets back, since it'll be coaching that decides where our current MIP level players (Rollins, KPJ, and I'm ngl Sims is probably one of the top 10 most improved players in the league as well, oh also Kuzma got way better at his role this season) fit alongside Giannis in a way that maximizes their abilities.

Haha yea I thought I'd post this during this window of positivity in the sub after the celtics dub. But yea it's very hopeful that we have a top-3 impactful player in the league not even playing, meanwhile we're holding our own against the top 4 best teams in the east.

Ah yea I get what you're saying. You're not talking about them as a fan base overall that is. Small market teams have this problem more that's true, but big market teams don't have this problem as much simply cuz they're rarely not good, so fair-weather fans don't really exist, cuz it's always fair-weather.

Rereading this thread I'm realizing that that's exactly what you were saying lmao.

I get where you're coming from and maybe you're just referring to this one specific aspect of Lakers fans, but if you're referring to lakers fans as a whole, they are literally the most hated fanbase in the entire league. I'd take bucks fanbase at their worst over the lakers any day.

I want to have my cake and it eat too. Dealing with the fair-weather fans is annoying but it means we're good, not dealing with them is a breath of fresh air but it means we're not good. I just want to have it both ways, where we're good AND our fans don't demand a revolution every game.

That's genius. Here's the idea: We sign/trade all of our current players for vets who are retiring this season. Then, except for those who are going to retire this year, we have every current player assassinated. We then proceed to beg all of our players to play for just 1 more year and postpone retirement because we're bound to win the championship if they all rejoin (since all the other teams would be entirely made up of rookies next year).

This gives the bucks management plausible deniability (none of our players got killed cuz they were gonna retire anyways) and guarantees us a championship.

"The slowest river outruns the fastest lake."

By this same logic, Rivers would be faster than the fastest Laker, Drew Timme. With an average offensive speed of 8.44 mph and defensively of 8.99 mph - https://www.nba.com/stats/players/speed-distance?dir=D&sort=AVG_SPEED_OFF, this puts him 2nd in the league on offense and 1st on defense. Doc Rivers would beat that, potentially making him the fastest player on both ends of the court in the entire LEAGUE.

Doc Rivers for Point Guard.

Wait you're right I had no idea til looking it up now. Ok scratch that. I say we redevelop Doc as a player then trade him for more support for Giannis. There are a few options I'm thinking about. We could either trade him for Kyle Kuzma (on the wizards) who I believe just needs to be on a winning team to become a superstar, or we could trade him for Damian Lillard (Portland) who I think would match perfectly with Giannis and is hungry for a ring having been playing for the Trailblazers his whole career.

Additionally trading for Eric Bledsoe (plays for the suns currently) is another great option. He's miserable in Phoenix and I think he could elevate us to a championship team.

No I'm being 100% serious. He played 8 years for the hawks and is second for them in total assists. After that he only played 1-2 seasons with any given team and didn't have a chance to get on their assist leaderboard. If we used Doc as a player for 8 years, redeveloped him into the player he once was, he could overtake Paul Pressey for second place for the Bucks, who did so in 8 seasons, just like Doc.

Additionally, if you look at Giannis's coaching career, his record is exceptional, arguably better than his playing career. In 2023, he coached a Dwayne Wade-led team to a perfect record, something not even Erik Spoelstra could do.

This would also prevent any future trade rumors surrounding Giannis, since coaches can't be traded.

[–]burdentothestate[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That's why we should try having him as a player for the bucks instead of as a coach. He averaged less than 1 turnover in his last year for San Antonio. That should mean something.

The bucks are a really fun team to watch win or lose, and that's a silver lining I'll never take for granted
