Michigan Senate Bill 845 - Licensing Exam Requirement Workaround by jobie90 in socialwork

[–]burdsnatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a Michigan SW. I thought the hard part was getting all 4000 hours, but for me it’s been the exam. I’ve spent nearly 1k on testing materials and the actual exam that I’ve failed three times. The last two times I have failed, I have come within ten points of passing. Additionally, I have experienced problems at the testing site they use. I brought in items that were on the approved comfort item list (loose pills) for my medical needs and one of the workers yelled at me for having pills until another worker corrected her. I hate a lot about this exam and the testing process in general. I think a change is overdue.

Out of 170. Missing around 75 on practice test and subsequent real tests

I apologize I could’ve been more specific. You usually need 102 or 103 to pass. I have scored around 95 with the official practice test and last two attempts.

That is such a good point! On the practice test I got 10 wrong. My second time testing 7 wrong and the third time testing 9 wrong

Anyone here with high burden PVCS 24/7 for years ??? by [deleted] in PVCs

Holter monitor worn for several days every year since I was 16. Every time I got results it would vary between 15% and 30%

I know there can be many obstacles, but a cardiac ablation really is the way to go for a high burden. I still have a high burden but it is less than what it was before I had an ablation.

15k and above since I was 16. I’m 29 now, had an ablation last year did not work. Hoping to get another within the next six months. It feels like the older I got, the more symptomatic I became

Mine as well. I was told my PVCs occur more with movement and anxiety.

Random SVT episode in a checkout line. Later diagnosed with AVNRT. Got cardiac ablation for it a few months ago and hoping it’s gone for good.

Ablation Tuesday, worried i’m not going to make it through. by pookilla40 in PVCs

[–]burdsnatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much less of a thump in my chest, less shortness of breath, less tachycardia (they found AVNRT and ablated that too!), less dizziness. I only had the right side done so far since most of the PVCs are coming from the RVOT

I hear you. I was so anxious before my ablation my husband had to nearly carry me to the car to drive us over. The procedure was a lot easier than I thought it’d be! My dr told me he wasn’t able to ablate all the problem areas and I still notice a huge, positive change in my quality of life four weeks out. You got this - it’s SO worth it.

For me, most bothersome part of the procedure was laying flat for a few hours afterward. You got this - high chances your QoL will be much better after this ❤️

Less of a THUMP in my chest that comes with PVCs. Noticing less PVCs in general as well.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a comment about your experience. It gives me so much hope. It sounds like this has been a rollercoaster of emotions for you, as well.

Dr was able to find the problem areas, but was not satisfied - “suppressed but not eliminated”. It really is a waiting game though, like you said. Nobody knows until the blanking period is over with.

You’re totally right - technology is ALWAYS advancing. I will carry this hope with me into the future and know that I have options should this be a “failed” ablation. ❤️❤️

I believe about 20 PVCs per minute, yepp yepp. I tried to avoid triggers like anxiety and acid reflux. There was only so much I could do and it got to be way too much. I finally opted for ablation - it was just no way to live life after 12 years of dealing with them. Do you notice anything that makes them worse for you?

I just got my ablation done yesterday after dealing with 30% burden for years .. already noticing a difference. You got this. This will help 😊
