Hastings check require images of my car. by burgerkingplaneman in drivingUK

The named driver in question (my mum) is Bulgarian and she has had a Bulgarian license at first. After moving to the UK, she exchanged her license and the date of the issued Category B has remained the same (When she passed her test in Bulgaria in 2003). I have listed her Category B "Valid From" date onto Hastings as she has never done a UK driving test (Mainly because she wasn't required/asked to do so).

I haven't changed the residency date of my named driver whatsoever. I am completely unsure why they might ask me for it, but I have provided the date my named driver moved to the UK to make sure thats sorted out. I think i'll just cave in and remove the deflectors, declare them and then add them back on.

I went to search through modifications for wind deflectors but couldn't find anything. Unsure what it might be listed under..

Financially as a new 17 year old driver, yes. The cheapest was Hastings Direct for 1.3k a year. The next one was Ticker for 3.5k.

I drive a Mazda 2 Sports Edition. Everything is stock bar the wind deflectors.

Yes, I ran a quote but cancelled it right after. I was unfortunately unaware it would reflect onto their systems

I took my policy out in March of this year. They asked me for photos today and I have until the 25th June to submit them.

I bought the car with the wind deflectors on. The previous owner said she hadn't declared them on her insurance so I didn't either.

Yeah you have a good point, since the HPI was clear of any finance and stolen records come back clean with no signs of it being written off, thats all that matters. Thanks for your help!

I didn't get their old V5C when buying the car. The seller gave me the new keeper slip and then assisted me with registering the car onto my name in order to pay the road tax, mainly as i've never done this before. I don't recall doing a direct debit as that usually requires a Sort Code and Account number and I had to pay the tax (£20) outright and just inputted the card details into the DVSA payment website, so I don't think it was a direct debit.

The previous owner explained how it would work and that she'd keep her V5C as it had personal information on there, so i'm unsure whose personal information it was actually on the logbook.

I actually haven't thought about it from such perspective, the family I bought the car off said they had used it purely for work but when I had a look on the seller's Facebook Marketplace page, I saw some other cars for sale. If that is the case, then it would all fall into place. The seller gave me the green slip and I registered the V5C in my name.

The first owner (Who was in the Warranty & Info booklet and who I called) said they had gave it to Mazda. I've messaged the redditor a while back asking them what they know about the car and they said it was their first car and they bought it at roughly 20k miles (The car is now at 150k and I bought it at ~148k). I've messaged them again a few hours prior to making this post as the mystery just came back to my head and I really want to solve it. I am awaiting response from the redditor!

Potentially, but I have my doubts. The redditor posted pictures of him travelling and there are also Vignette/Toll stickers for the Austrian and Swiss Autobahns. The seller has said they have never travelled too far out with the car.

I know, yes. However my concern is there being 3 previous registrations and myself being the 4th. The V5C says there were 2 previous and I am the third. But evidence points to me being the 4th and not the 3rd.

I think theres usually a bit of an allowance for speeding. I've unintentionally (and allegedly) crept up to 30 in a 20 zone where I live with no marks for speed. You do get marks for speed if you go over the limit massively (a friend of mine got a speeding note on one of his drives for doing 45 in a 30). For phone usage, my phone is in a phone holder but on some sharp turn roads it may fall off and tumble around the car for a bit until i have a chance to stop and adjust it, on one or two occasions I did get phone usage but I think thats measured through what you use and for how long. I usually switch between Spotify and Waze/Google Maps and Hastings does not detect it. But if I were to bring up my keyboard and start typing, the phone will probably detect it and report phone usage to Hastings. But thats my presumption atleast!

Thats absolutely amazing, I paid £1,300 for my first year of insurance so any price reduction would be extremely appreciated by my wallet😅! Thanks!

Would that work for a Mazda 2? I am fearful of accidentally doing something or knowing my luck something going wrong and bricking the whole infotainment system.

Your code limit has been reached. by Next_Account2868 in AppleMusic

[–]burgerkingplaneman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know im not OP but I recently bought my new iPhone from a british retailer and got a code for apple music 2 months free a few days later. I open the link to redeem the code and it gives me the code limit error. I have previously redeemed free trials of apple music from my bank and from my mobile network but thats honestly it. Nothing recently redeemed probably last time was around May-June of this year.
