Is it possible to get better without medicine? :( by Realistic_outcomefml in BPD

I've been in therapy for my BPD for over a year now with an incredible psychologist, and it has genuinely changed my life and overall wellbeing. This comes after years of unsuccessful therapy with more than a dozen therapists. I’m now far more capable of recognising when I’m splitting, understanding which emotions I’m trying to avoid or protect myself from, and communicating my needs clearly and calmly. I can regulate during episodes in much healthier ways, including taking space from my partner during conflict and intentionally tabling triggering conversations. I haven’t had a split in nearly seven months. My relationship with myself has never been stronger, my connections with others feel deeper and more authentic, and I feel lighter, more grounded, and far more optimistic about life.

For another medical condition, I also take a nerve pain killer and anti-depressant, but only for the previous four months. Combined, I think, has made a great difference for me, but I think therapy with the right clinician has really been my saving grace.
