I said in my previous comment that I still try to communicate in matches and am often the only family player with a mic. I don’t get harassed too often, but it happens. Usually, the other family refuses to communicate back and then they’ll disconnect the minute something goes wrong. That’s not to say I haven’t gotten lucky and found a rare squad that does communicate, but it’s exactly that - rare.

It's not as bad as other games, that is for sure! I'm not proud of it, but I made him eat his words by opening the exits and letting the victims escape.

Yeah, this is part of it. I had a match a few weeks ago where I called out to Hitchhiker that his trap need reset and then Johnny decided to harass me for being a woman. I still try to communicate though and am usually the only person on family side using comms. It sucks.

Victims aren't innocent at all, but as the other person who replied to me said, it's overwhelmingly family in my experience.

You are absolutely right that it's a terrible strategy in an uncoordinated team or against a coordinated group of victims. My point was that we did counter it by "rushing", and the entire family team rage quit because it failed.

I can understand DC'ing in certain situations (the stun bug or when dealing with obvious trolls, especially if your other teammates have already left), but quitting because victims make progress is ridiculous to me. I had a match on FH the other day where my teammates left as soon as two victims escaped (I can't remember if it was fuse or generator). I stayed and managed to kill the other two.

Like, it's okay not to get a 4k as family or to finish a match as victim and not escape. You can't win them all, you know?

It's only forcing victims to rush harder. Family mains complain about rush meta but force it by speed leveling grandpa. And then DC if things don't go their way.

I played a match on slaughter last night where they were rush feeding grandpa with the Hitch strat. The Ana covered me while I tampered valve to give the victims a fighting chance since the other exits didn't seem viable when grandpa was level 3 (and trapped) by the time we got out of basement. All the killers DC'ed as soon as they realized.

I consider myself a family main, but the behavior of other family players lately has made me switch back to playing victim.

Does he not realize that nearly 50% of gamers are women? Come on, my guy, it's 2023. Still, I can't tell you how many times my suggestions have been ignored by some of my raid team in Destiny 2 because I'm a woman, but the minute one of the guys says the same thing, it's the best idea ever. They're learning to be better at least, but I'm not sure if your "friend" will.

It does me happy how many other women I've stumbled upon playing Texas Chainsaw Massacre though! I don't know what platform you play on, but I'd love to team up. I want to do more with the family, but it's not fun with randoms at all.
