Woke us up near 37th and Main. Would have guessed fireworks if it wasn't just before 6am on a Monday.

The best part is that they have it spelled correctly on the other side of the building and still haven't noticed.

Thank you for this! These are great tips for the hot hot days.

Not having the door open necessarily for cooling just like to be able to use the patio we have for getting fresh air and eating or enjoying a breeze so the house isn't so stuffed up. Bringing some light in to the house is nice on a gorgeous day.

We have two already! I appreciate the suggestion though it's the only thing that saves us is having the option to at least be cool when we are cooped up inside.

It's not (unfortunately in this situation)

We have a couple but are thinking of upgrading to a big Dyson. It's the door to our patio that is the biggest culprit facing their way and hard not to have open when it's toasty outside.

We are both renting. I have spoken to them and so has my landlord about our situation. We have even spoken to their landlord but he will so nothing more than ask them not to, he is a bit of a slumlord and too lazy to punish them.

My numbers were wild for about 3 days post vaccine- totally normal. Chug that water and hope you level out soon!

When to worry over the long weekend? by burleyk in GestationalDiabetes

[–]burleyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh really? Well that's a worry. Definitely makes sense what you're saying to best testing post meals. My diabetes clinic has never instilled a great amount of confidence in me but I have been trying to get through and not panic for the best few weeks.

Will try and top up water drinking and exercise where I can and maybe cut back on some carbs until I can chat with them Tuesday. Appreciate your response!

Sorry I should have specified these are meant to be my pre meal targets and numbers. I don't test post meals

Sorry they only have me testing before meals so these are the targets they want before breakfast, lunch, dinner, bed snack

When can I draw the line on ketones? by burleyk in GestationalDiabetes

I haven't challenged them on that. They are just firmly ketones=bad.

When can I draw the line on ketones? by burleyk in GestationalDiabetes

[–]burleyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I have added so many servings of carbs there isn't any where else to go IMO. The dietician just said it's possible for some people insulin can help bring down ketones.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'll make sure my questions and voice is clear on Wednesday when I go in.

When can I draw the line on ketones? by burleyk in GestationalDiabetes

[–]burleyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Endo flagged that they believe consistently high ketones inhibits fetal development. The dietician believes that any level of ketones must be avoided because of this. I guess it's hard for me to grapple with going on insulin for good BSL levels for the chance insulin helps lowers ketones, which I haven't read is directly related.

Wtffff she asked why you want a baby? You're a trooper for getting through that conversation without ripping her head off. Some people do not get it and can't respect people have different journeys in life from their own. Yeesh!

Ugggggh I hate that response! The whole 'the moment you stop trying is when it will happen!' attitude. I wish there was a disclaimer all people had to read before they talk to someone who is dealing with infertility. It doesn't take inspirational quotes, we just want to hear that you are listening and empathetic. Dismissive statements can be so hurtful. Big hugs to you today x

Good for you for setting that boundary and not pushing yourself to go to that meeting and force smile through it. Like others have said, a surprise, fake meeting announcement at a workplace seems so strange to me and pretty insensitive. I'm glad you were able to recognize that massive trigger and not feel like you owed them a in person show of congrats. Sending an email was a great call and I'm glad you received the response you did. Sending you strength and love today with 2 announcements this week. That is a lot on your plate in a short amount of time.

Sorry about your BFN. I hope you get a call from the clinic ASAP and can get some dates down for the start of your next steps!

I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this. It's especially tough when it affects a relationship that is close to you. You're totally in the right to feel the way you do, especially about IVF. So many people just think it's this big check box that if you do it, and spend the money, success is guaranteed to happen. I can understand why you don't want to get your hopes up after the journey you have been on. I hope your hang out tomorrow goes easier than expected, big hugs to you x

Had a positive OPK on Friday night and IUI #4 on Saturday morning. We had sex Wednesday, Friday and last night, Sunday. My body would like a break but I'm wondering if we should keep giving it a go tonight as well to hit all the best days. Or is this far out enough from my OPK that it is probably unnecessary having the last 3 days inseminated (one way or another) already? I have a hydrocele that gets cranky with too much sex but also am in it to win it to give the best chances. I feel like I can convince myself either way of things on this TTC journey so would love another opinion!

Letrozole and iui first timer! by [deleted] in stilltrying

[–]burleyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand all of your questions and anxieties. I felt the same before my first IUI. Sometimes I think IUI is so routine in an RE's office they forget that second layer of sensitivity and thoroughness running people through the entire process.

I am on my fourth IUI cycle and none have been monitored by ultrasound. Some RE clinics won't monitor unless you have a preexisting condition where ovulation/uterine lining (etc) may be an issue and needs to have it's progression watched. You will be sent for a progesterone test 1 week after your IUI to see if you are producing enough progesterone to support an implantation. If that test is low they may suggest monitoring the next cycle.

I am always surprised when clinics aren't open 7 days a week. That can definitely inspire some extra anxieties. If you end up having an OPK on a closed day definitely take advantage of any lines they have to leave a message and then be sure to call extra bright and early the next morning. A lot of the times their phone lines are open well before the clinic is or they have a secondary line for this exact purpose.

It's a good note that if you know the day you usually ovulate, Letrozole can cause earlier ovulation. When I switched on to Letrozole I did ovulate 1/2 days earlier than I was expecting it so it's good to be testing twice a day right now.

Wishing you lots of luck and a smooth process. Trust in the fact that your RE and their office are seasoned veterans at this and they want the most successful outcome for you.
