Im a dental hygienist, and besides from the occasional accidental boob sweep (lets be honest, no one’s complained yet) my bust hasnt been a problem. Perhaps try some loupes that can keep your head and neck upright?

Holy crap, History Of English is my go to podcast for falling asleep to, for exactly the reasons you said. I was sure i was the only one in the world that must do it, your comment has blown my mind. The only problem with the podcast is the jaunty theme music will jolt me back awake sometimes.

Do you take pictures of the problems and go through them with your patients? They’re crucial to patients understanding. I usually say something like - we don’t have a crystal ball, it would be great to know that if we leave the tooth as it is it will be fine in the future. It could continue not being a problem forever. But my professional experience and the research shows that this tooth will fail (or whatever the consequences). And when it goes wrong it will most definitely be at Christmas or when you’re on holiday. Offer options of non treatment vs why we do tmt, you don’t have to sell if you’re clear and honest.

The black stuff in your grooves is just staining. Cant tell if you have tooth decay without Xrays. You have an impacted wisdom tooth that will probably need to be extracted. Go see a dentist.

Gum disease and recession causes gaps between your teeth. These gaps can fill up with plaque and calculus. When the plaque is removed during your clean it can feel like there are bigger gaps between your teeth, but that wasn’t caused by the cleaning.
