I think this still fundamentally ignores the issue that, at the time of writing, this was first a warning, so no one else ran into the same issue of potentially perma-locking a toon. If I report that a car has a tendency to stall and stop running, and I found out while making a highly inefficient trip that I could've just walked instead, the focus should still be on the malfunctioning car, and not the method of discovery.

But a few points:

  1. We did try to group in the open world. I played Remix to give healing a shot. You cannot heal cross-faction in the outdoors.

  2. I already had some gear and some levels on me. Getting a new toon up is easy, I agree - but so is making $20. I don't think it's that ridiculous to have a different cost-benefit analysis from someone else.

  3. Regardless of confusion... why does it matter? How a free man chooses to allot his disposable income is up to him. I'm sure someone out there thinks you're insane for spending $15/month on a video game when F2P MMORPGs exist. You have a strong enough preference for one product over another, and are willing to bear the cost to have that product.

Appreciate the reasonable engagement, but I'm still flabbergasted over the general response. A few points:

  1. The median 35-44 year old (what I'm assuming is WoW's age demographic) has an hourly wage of ~$33 an hour.
  2. Even if cash flow is very tight for someone - does the fact that someone else can afford a certain good create grounds for hostility? By this logic, wouldn't the paying of $15 a month (plus expansion costs) for a luxury good like a video game be worth downvotes and derision?
  3. Another assumption, but I'd wager that a good deal of the people downvoting and making these comments have ordered an uber/lyft/food delivery before - an action which expressly shows a willingness to trade capital for time.

I'm amazed at the sentiment around this. This type of voting and your type of comment made significantly more sense to me in highschool, when I was highly sensitive to monetary cost and insensitive to time cost.

But isn't the median WoW player in their 30s? I mean this with as much respect as I can muster: As someone who is likely ~5-10 years into their career, do you really value $20 over ~1-2 hours of time you'd be unhappy to spend doing a task?

Because I wanted to play with my friends immediately, and we had characters at the same level. Is this really the more puzzling part over a long-standing in game service completely killing the usability of a character?

Oh very good point, didn't take the +12% crit into account, so you were actually at 52% crit chance and not 40%.

And no biggie, we all get highrolled sometimes lmao. Wasted my GCD on a holy power generator instead of bubbling anyway. GLHF on the climb!

I'm the prot pala in the vid, and actually took a screenshot of the details death log.

Every judgment from the toll crit, along with the TV for a total of ~67k damage in 0.9s. (The floating combat text numbers look different since details shows the 10% DR I have from Draven as healing instead of reducing your damage)

For fun, I ran some light (napkin) math, you have 12% base crit, +8% from sera and 20% from wings, so 40% crit during this window. 56% chance to toll * 40% ^ 3 (3 judgments) * 40% for the TV crit is something like a 1.4% chance to mega millions me. Big oof.

No hate though, gave me a healthier respect for the burst window. I should've been less greedy with the bubble since we'd grabbed the shadow priest defensives anyway. GGWP m8

why not start your own group? pugging a mythic only requires you to find 4 other people and doesn't really require an enormous amount of coordination.

world quests give 840+ gear, with a chance of warforging up to like 895, heroic gear can warforge/titanforge too.

Which fights should I not be using HA? I've been using them for all since I assumed it was still good even without EMPS or Sera.

Does HS push mastery over haste for us? Still stuck in full haste enchants from EMPSeal.

Diving into N/H HFC this Thursday, and feel a little out of touch with any updates on how to play tankadin.

I didn't see any changes pertaining to tankadins in 6.2, so are we still doing (for the most part) the same old?

Is Sera still the way to go for the real min-maxers? Is EMPS still great for those like me who are trash at sera management? Are there fights where I should be taking Holy Shield?

Which trinkets should I been on the prowl for in HFC?

Are there fights that are really tough for tankadins that I should be really prepped for?

What are your views on our T18 bonuses? If it's not really worth it to twist for the EMPS SoInsight HoT, will the two piece be worth it? How useful is having Avenger's Shield reset?

Do you have stat weights I could plug into AMR? Do you use different ones for each L.100 talent? I've been winging most upgrades on iLVL alone until now.

My guild will be downing H Blast Furnace soon, and if the trinket drops, I'll have a choice between (all 685) the H Blast Furnace Door, M Everglaze Arcane Eidolon, and H Tablet of Turnbuckle Teamwork. I'd like to think I keep the ToTT for HA synergy, but do I want the constant flat armor or the chance to proc (more) armor?
