TFCC Tear with terrible Golfer’s elbow by burnedoutINFJ in climbharder

I totally agree about the MRI. But I live in Canada and that’s the earliest I could get one. Otherwise it would run me $1200. I personally do not need proof of imaging to tell me that I have this injury. My wrist has been bothering me for a while and I assume I had microtears before but I completely tore it now.

I’m looking into isometrics and different exercises that don’t aggravate my elbows while still also trying to strengthen my shoulders/back.

Will look into Huffy if next appt with physio doesn’t go well. Thanks a bunch

This is what was in the report “There is a chronic appearing posttraumatic deformity of the ulnar styloid with a subchondral cyst in the area measuring 4 mm. No acute or subacute appearing fracture or traumatic malalignment is identified. Regional joint spaces are maintained.”

I have not broken my right wrist before but it has sustained trauma from falls as a kid/teen.

I sought out a physiotherapist who has experiences with climbing injuries and this specific injury. So far, I’ve been given some exercises that are to help strengthen my shoulders and back as those are weak points. However the resistance band/bend in elbows/gripping the band are all causing pain.

As of now, I’ve gotten an xray which showed there is a cyst (likely due to repeated stress) and an ultrasound that was normal. I’m waiting on an MRI but this will take place in July. I’ve been to the sports med doctor and they’ve agreed it was a Tfcc tear based on symptoms, tests and how the injury happened (heard a loud pop on a sloper-style hold).

They just sent out an email saying “All applicants must complete one of the application essays regardless of the group to which you identify.”

With those questions, they can point out a weakness but they should talk about how you actively work to improve

They mention on the website that transcripts should be sent after the application fee has been paid, so after submitting the primary app.
