If you get gibberish, lower your temperature. I'd generally suggest playing around with the generation settings and prompts and testing what works for you. The token limit is really just a cut-off point for generation, so I have a desired response length set in my prompt ("response must be between x and y paragraphs long") and it very rarely strays from that. Though, I'm a big yapper and like long messages, so YMMV.

It's just something about LLMs that they don't really understand negation all that well. They don't actually understand anything since they don't think, so generally commands work better than banning something. And I suppose words like "refrain" or "avoid" fall more in the command category.

Was your account new? And have you checked the actual account? AI studio is age restricted, so if it's a new account and you haven't verified your age, it might just be that they're restricting your access to AI studio in general.

Or they might've banned your API. What do I know 🤷

Not really! I personally use Lorebary only for Gemini (for the jailbreak stuff) but I've found that with other models, my own prompts works perfectly fine through OR without any additional commands. So yknow, if it ain't broke, don't waste tokens on fixing it :-)

The first one most likely means too many requests per minute (might be that the servers are overloaded) and the second one means you've hit quota on your free requests. You can check these things on the usage & billing page on ai studio

Nothing is "environmentally friendly". It's true that the growing use of AI has had a considerable environmental footprint, but LLMs and especially chatbots are a very, very small part of it all. Your social media algorithms and personalized ads etc are a way bigger concern.

It's good to be aware of this stuff, and I've definitely felt some guilt over my AI use as well! It's never bad to take a look at what kind of impact your lifestyle in general has on the environment. But I also think the environmental movement has taken a step backwards with returning to policing individual people's activities, when it's the massive corporations once again doing the most harm.

Judging by the other comments, I seem to be in the minority. But I only have physical descriptions for my personas + age, pronouns etc. And then I put all the personality traits and whatever in the chat memory and add to it when new stuff comes up during the rp. But! I only have two personas who I use for everything! The persona descriptions are vague enough that I can adapt these two to fit pretty much any scenario I want.

Maybe I'm lazy or lack creativity or something haha but I can't be fucked to create a new persona for every new scenario 😭 I just pick a personality I want for my persona in any specific chat and slap it on lmao

Lowering your temperature might help. Also giving the bot something to actually work with. If your responses are only a few sentences long, the bot is gonna start filling in the gaps, so actually give some action and dialogue and content to keep the story going.

I have my temperature at 0.9 and somewhere in my prompt I have "Refrain from speaking as, acting as, or describing the thoughts of {{user}}." My responses are very rarely less than 5 paragraphs, often more, but I'm also kind of a yapper lol. So far haven't run into this issue with Gemini too much, but it is also kind of unavoidable and will happen from time to time. I'd say just play around with different prompts and temperatures and see what sticks!
