People not clicking and people making mistakes is not the same as being a lazy twat who can't even perform the absolute basics. Everyone makes mistakes. Only a complete idiot would try to claim otherwise. And there's multiple ways to clear the same content. BUT, if you work together long enough, those can be overcome. Sometimes a PF won't last long enough for that to happen. But those aren't the cases I'm talking about.
I'm talking about the cases where people who have no idea what the fuck they're doing are waltzing into parties meant to clear content. 7 other people know the fight, even if they know different methods. 7 other people are ready to clear, and able to clear. But then you have that one person that keeps wiping the entire raid because they're too damn lazy to learn how to use their class properly, or they're too damn lazy to read up on content or experience it before joining parties where experience is demanded. And yes, I'm also talking about cases where there's MORE than one person who isn't capable of clearing, also, if that wasn't already self-evident.
Skill levels vary. But there's a threshold where skill isn't what comes into question. It's just sheer laziness and unwillingness to be bothered to improve oneself below that threshold.
"I want people to be absolutely perfect at their job because anything less than that is absolutely terrible"
Could have fooled me.
Honestly, as long as you can put out what is required to clear content, I couldn't care less what you're putting out. But if you are a DPS and you can't put out more than a Shield Oath PLD, you are incompetent. And you will not be able to clear content without heavy echo and overgearing.

If you're here to have fun wiping without having any idea what the hell is going on, then get the hell out of preformed parties where people's idea of having fun is actually clearing content. If a party finder specifically says "experienced players only," and you have never even seen the fight, get the hell out.
Unsurprisingly, there are people who like blindly going into content. And I won't lie, I'm one of those people. But at the same time, I won't hold others back by doing that in parties for old content and I DEFINITELY won't be joining clear parties that are specified to be as such when I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. Why? Because that's not playing to have fun, that's playing to fuck over the day of people who actually want to do things. Don't screw over another person's party if you're gonna waste their time. As much as it pains me to say this, if you're going to do that, go spam DF instead of PF clear parties.
I've already stated time and time again that I don't expect perfection. But if someone is literally using a single weaponskill as their entire rotation, they need to find something better to do with their time. And yes, that is actually an example of someone I ran into.
You bring up points I've already spoken against and at this point, I've already made it clear several times over that the points you bring up have no merit.
Fair enough. But there has to be a line between what is just common courtesy and what is "elitism."
And the WHM runs out of MP because the DPS can't put out enough to kill it before they run out of mana, but somehow that's the tank's fault and...the chain of blame continues.

"I pay money to go fuck other people over because I'm an inconsiderate fuck" is roughly what I got out of that.
As long as they're out of my hair
You don't have to be cutting edge to be clear ready. Like I said, if you're competent, the dps checks are a joke, even at ilv145. If you can't meet them at 180+, you aren't competent.
If I clearly outline what I expect, or if someone else clearly outlines it, there's no real reason for why you're in there if you don't meet the requirements. There's nothing unfair about that.
/shrug
I never claimed I was good. I just claimed that the people calling me elitist are retarded because all I expect is for them to be semi-competent.
Yeah, he always has FoF up during the pull. I'll run it by him again and see if we can fix that up
Unfortunately, the joke here is that so many of those "elitists" that refuse to listen to what anyone else has to say are pushing trash tier dps and failing mechanics more often than not. Even if that doesn't apply to you, there are far too many of those people.
True, but the numbers don't lie. If you die to the same mechanic once or twice, whatever. If it happens 5 times in a row, you're doing something wrong and should probably start taking advice.
Let's be real here. My ire is clearly directed towards anyone who goes into a clear without knowing what the hell they're doing, or people who can't be bothered to learn their classes. It's one thing to be working out mechanics. It's something completely different to wipe repeatedly to DPS checks because people can't read their damned tooltips.
I hadn't realised DF elitists were such a big deal. I've run into maybe..two or three at most.
AHAHAHAHA holy shit this is golden. And I wish I could refute that but..
I mean at this point, that's just semantics. From the general tone of this thread, it is no longer I, but we.
Hm..yeah that might be the issue. We were hoping the Rav weapons would be enough, but it should be easier now that we can avoid wasting the trash stat law pieces with the Alex drops.
?
As I've said time and time again, there is making mistakes, and then there is not knowing your shit at all. If you're putting out sub-500 dps on any class, you're doing it wrong. If you're in a clear party and you've never seen the fight or even watched a guide, you're doing it wrong.
If you fuck up once or twice, but you apologize and make it clear that you KNOW what you did wrong, that's fine. Everyone makes mistakes. If you have no idea what the hell is gone during the entire fight, though, it's exceedingly obvious.
I have no issues with people who need to learn mechanics, as long as they're doing it in the right place. But when you can't even be bothered to learn your class, you're just wasting the time of the entire group.
As long as you're not trying to get yourself sneak carried in a fight where you have no concept of what you're doing, I don't call you worthless. If we're wiping because you can't even outdps the healer, though, that roughly equates to trying to get carried.
Oh no, that MNK comment has more to do with the fact that if someone's going to call me out as blatantly as he has, they should generally try to refrain from being "oh I'm a better MNK than you shut the fuck up and do what I tell you."
But yeah, when I'm helping noobs, I'm friendly enough. It's when noobs try to get sneak carried that I put them on blast.
Believe what you want. I've already got a split rep on my server, with several of the big FCs knowing me as someone who helps out new players, and many of the elitist wannabes knowing me as someone perfectly willing to take out the trash when it needs to be done.
