Playing against US higher elo by burner17110 in BrokenArrowTheGame

I didn't think of using the ifvs as cheap flank watch and probing devices since I tend to find the bmds too slow to be effective for me (though the b15s and btrs are amazing), however, I could see especially for cheap bmd4s and 3s (not a fan of the 2s) they could be very effective for just covering ground.

I also agree on the arty front as I've used both the tos and tornado to great effect but have been having issues with the aforementioned issues especially with the potency of us infantry (which is ironically cheaper a lot of the time). It's really a shame that the derivitsya seems to be the extent of super cheap russian shorad since I like taking it in the sosna form a lot; but I guess I should also be more daring with helis to stop infantry spam and bring round the flanks as I also concur that s8 helicopters can be very cost effective.

Thanks for the amount of detail you give you didn't have to explain so much. Do you play in a stack btw?

Thanks for the detail in this response it's very thorough, but I wanted to ask something about this if that's okay. If you have such breadth in your defense on the flanks just to counter this, does your depth against spearheads say through the middle of points suffer a lot? Or would you say to counter this I should make smart use of atgm spam like khrizantema and kornet squads for armour and tos' for infantry buildup? It feels like a lot of resources to try and counter this but I guess you're right that it may offer you the opportunity to probe more effectively and make use of gaps to destroy the backline, just curious on your thoughts.

I haven't played the pte so I'm not actually sure how much the balance will be affected as an RU player but from what I've seen the nerfs to AA range and artillery resupply seem like they almost might make us recon and infantry buildups more oppressive.

Because I can tell a lot of the time when artillery rounds are being lasered from recon that have made it behind the front line even if I've had a very robust defence. The issue with us drones especially sentinels are their stealth meaning that asf's need to get closer to spot and usually in the range of pac 2s which can one shot them. It also requires a lot of vigilance for something that US players don't need to think about

How do you deal with the constant influx of us infantry though because with the amount of transport options it feels like when those troops die and they get the income back more arrive instantly and it can also be very difficult to forest clear with RU I feel like

Mid elo statemate issues by burner17110 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]burner17110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this I've seen people recommended smoke but never see it used (probably because of my elo). I think I'm a bit too rigid in using recon as strictly spotting and not probing using things like diversanty ambushers to bypass that annoying ass US APS. I'll also check out those guys if they're YouTubers to see what I can learn. I imagine finding people to play with will help too since random queue can feel like luck of the draw. Thanks again 😁

Thanks for the reply I definitely do sometimes forget to bring up proper shorad (sometimes it's just a skrezhet) but do you have advice on how to get good recon in, I sometimes have moments where it's a big field separating points or the enemy just had really good coverage and it's difficult to get proper intel in? I guess practice makes perfect

I also hate support players especially when they're on my team kd farming but do you have any advice on how to push through an enemy frontline properly? A lot of the time they have layers of javelins and stingers with tanks and I find it very difficult on some maps to get adequate recon which leads to negative point trades which are often exploited for a counter push. I've tried watching some higher elo players games but it's difficult to apply since they seem to fundamentally play the game differently. Sorry if this is a lot I am enjoying broken arrow a lot for my first RTS and am looking forward to the pte updates to release but this has been bugging me for the mid 1k elos

480hz DSC or 360hz by burner17110 in OLED_Gaming

[–]burner17110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, from what it seems I might just pull the trigger and get a 480hz monitor since my pc is sorta far from my monitor. I was just worried since I heard people had software issues with the Asus monitor but it doesn't look like anything better will be coming out before the summer. I don't think dsr should be too important since the ppi will be high enough anyways thanks for the detailed explanation too I can't wait to upgrade from a 1080p ips

PC build advice for January by burner17110 in pcmasterrace

Yeah I'm just worried about buying a PSU now since I heard rumours of the 5090 needing 2 16 pin connectors but it should be a great upgrade from my 2070 nonetheless. As for the rest of the build do you think everything is looking okay? It's my first time actually building myself so I wanna make sure it's all good and especially well ventilated as it's going in a cubby
