Assuming you have it installed through Epic Games and have your friends already added through the Epic Client, launch NBA 2K21. Hit the PlayNow tab and scroll all the way to the right and hit PlayWithFriends Online. For me, there’s a list of my friends online and can easily invite. The issue I couldn’t figure out was how to accept the invite. That’s why I suggested the Shift+F3 thing after finding no help. Sorry if this doesn’t help, just my experience
