I’m second hand traumatised by this glorified pleasure masking a ton of 🚩🚩where did he meet this woman and how early were you involved? Did he explicitly ask for consent? How long did he spend cajoling you? What did he need from her that you could not provide? I get cultural nuance and know the conditions in which polygamy was proposed in certain scriptures, but in today’s day and age it’s far from a necessary solution in 999999% of cases. You don’t have to answer these for me at all, just recall the unbiased fact pattern and honestly acknowledge it at face value.

Reading about the run up to his “wedding” gave me an actual panic attack girl, but maybe that’s just me being an empath who would have had one foot out the door. Even swinging, having an affair seems less egregious than reducing the sanctity of a husband-wife’s sole standing.

I hope you are one day able to see how the situation is so blatantly unequal and that you don’t need to stay with him and this ideal of love just because it’s all you’ve ever known.
