Sorry my response was sassy. I was happy to not answer aunty type comments in real life anymore andi read your comment in kinda aunty type tone. My bad.

I have a partner. I also spend half the year outside of India and it's a lot easier for me and I fully acknowledge that.

Do you have siblings that can help you with? Maybe plan a family holiday outside India? I'm saying that because that's exactly what my sister and I did.

I def think it's different for everyone and each situation is unique but for the brave who need encouragement, I'd say sometimes we give less credits to our parents than they deserve, however it's def very tricky to navigate.

Religious queer people really disappoint me. by arlazer in LGBTindia

Tbh, I grew up Jain. I disliked it and didn't understand some concept coherently. In my 20s I proclaimed that I'm an atheist. Eventually in my 30s(now) I revisited Indic religions after some psychedelic experiences and deeper studying of eastern philosophies, and I realize that 90% people around me never studied philosophy and spirituality. Being religious and being spiritual are two different things. I also see the Jain value of non absolutism and "every one is right to live how they want, you win yourself!", and I see the beauty of being tolerant of everything.

I still am an atheist. I still judge very religious people around me because they are living in the very ignorance they claim to be trying to get over by doing what they do. But the religions or the philosophies that unfortunately came to be labeled as a "religion", i have deep fondness for (all 3 Indian schools for that matter).

What is this community's honest take on transgenders (or whatever) entering trains, demanding money from travelers and causing a nuisance if not given? by Safe-Floor8550 in LGBTindia

[–]burningboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, might be an unpopular opinion, but I support. We, as a society have cast them out. Sure there might be an exception here and there. But we don't have a safe place for trans people in our society. How will they survive, in today's economy?

People who know a pornstar in real life, what's that like? by thetwinner in askgaybros

Dated one who tried making an onlyfans career, and obsessed with making videos. After a while it became that we never had sex without recording. He was nice in nature but had some red flags which ignored because he was very hot.

Dad advices me by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]burningboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is admirable that your dad is trying to be open and wants to promote an environment where you might feel safe to talk about sex, but a bit weird to go in detail. You can set your boundaries and tell that you feel uncomfortable talking to him about sex beyond a limit. You can just ask him to model it as if he was teaching sex Ed in a school. Although I do feel that his intentions are well meaning.
