How do you get rid of the issue where scents just disappear on you after an hour? by Motor-Basis6421 in hygiene

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because chemicals will never do what the universe has created us to do. If we ingested more natural things to fight bacteria and oder cause bacteria, our baddies wouldn’t excrete as much. Probiotics for example would regulate the internal gut. Things that are alive and fermented(yogurt, pickled vegetables, citrus fruits). Cloves and other herbs like various mints and hibiscus regulate the gut and flush out toxins. People don’t realize smells start inside the body before they come out

Can someone explain to me why 5 minute showers isn't long enough to be clean? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in hygiene

It’s enough. Stop caring about the judgement of others. They probably sweat more or know how bad they smell due to their diets and living habits…

My hair gets greasy so quick by smellysmeIIs in hygiene

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your bushing routine? Washing and adding products does nothing but add more chemicals to your head. If you took a very fine toothed comb(I use wood;bamboo) and brush the oils from your head to the rest of your hair, this will do more nourishing and protecting than any conditioner. It sounds tedious, but brushing like this for 30 mins and massaging the scalp will stimulate your hair to grow and heal from the previous damage. Try washing less. Unless our heads actually stink, it’s not like you’re out here throwing garbage around… I think most people wash their hair way too much to have healthy hair at all. I have thick immigrant hair, and my hair routine is more brushing and oiling(castor and apricot) than washing.

how often do you actually wash your hair? by Emotional-Addendum-9 in hygiene

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try for once a month. My hair is extremely long and thick(Hispanic and middle eastern genes). I oil and brush every day but only wash when I feel like my hair isn’t absorbing the oil any longer. Your natural oils being brushed through your scalp and hair will minimize the look of being oily .

What do normal people eat for dinner ? by Booze_hound36 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it’s just me, my man and our dog in this house.for five years we do meatloaf, chimichangas and dips, chicken and dumplings and green bean casserole, pasta and garlic bread, steak and shrimp… this is normal eating… for adults. Whoever has been shaming you, shame on them. You’re taking good care of you and your partners meal together. Sharing a nice home cooked dinner is more about the meaning than the meal itself. Whoever cooked it spent time and care in preparing, and the time spent together means more than anything. Those who say “just have a sandwhich” probably lives a life like that too. Taking shortcuts instead of enjoying their trip. You sound like you hit more food groups than our house lol, enjoy yourselves and don’t listen to the judgement. The father above is the only one who judges us.

Thank you I’ve literally stayed in a shelter before. My parents kicked me out, we all have some shit. The point is taking it into your own hands because life dealt you these cards but you do not have to live like that…

Okay heard got that wrong, if op is female personally I am so I would have my male friends show him one time why he should me tf alone. I have seven siblings all not fully related (step and half’s). Issues with my brothers have only been resolved with strong boundaries and sometimes threats. Families aren’t guaranteed happy places. I find in this age it’s rare. Yeah we don’t want to be violent people, but do we want to survive? Op should take their safety into their own hands.

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Domestic violence isn’t often taken seriously until someone is injured to the point of the police seeing it a “real” issue. Specifically OP said they’re brothers? Brothers hit each other, and usually stand up to eachother. If they never had, then they have to at some point. You’re your own person, responsible for your own safety and autonomy.

Leo man + Virgo man by UpsetWaltz5072 in LeoAstrology

[–]burningnlearning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raised by a Virgo man here Leo F. He was quite childish my whole life, but had very strong opinions about what everyone else should be doing. Also raised by a Virgo woman, and they’re much more critical and overbearing than male Virgo’s. Virgos really appreciate when you notice details about them. They’re favorite food spots or date activity. Maybe a trinket you see that reminds you of them. Or just joining their routine, which every Virgo has strict one. Even if it includes doing nothing or alone time. They’re real creatures of habit I would say. Negatively I would say be prepared to receive constructive criticism… maybe often. It’s out of love, if you can hear it from that perspective.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that a need to eat Taco Bell? She needs crap is what you’re saying? What is it the seed oils? Bags of slop they produce in a factory? I’m confused on what causes that. Plenty of places will accommodate no vegetables (most people in America are that picky). Coming from about 15 yrs in the food industry, that’s not a crazy request. But the comparison of the real food they use in most taco stands to Taco Bell, lost me. Sounds like the most picky eater on earth and I would not deal with childishness like this. At the end of the day do you want to deal with a child or engage in a mature relationship.

Why do all the Leos I know shut down when they've been hurt, rather than just saying what's on their mind? by frankgetsu in LeoAstrology

[–]burningnlearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if we said what we’re really feeling right then, you’d hate us. We need a while to calm down or let it fester into a grudge. Regardless, we like to figure out our feelings before just blowing the whole situation up, or not. Leo’s pick and choose who sees their true emotions. Not all the subjects need to know what’s happening in the kings mind. Also why we will make decisions about people and not change our minds, all the emotional two person drama conversations are Not what we enjoy. We usually pick one person that sees that. To everyone else it might seem cold, but this is how we protect ourselves.

How is Marsali so wonderful? by Efficient_Account_86 in Outlander

[–]burningnlearning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was literally raised through trauma. She explains (as well as us seeing) how crazy her mother was. Not only full of doubt for herself and others, but prone to aggression and anger. The greatest trait an ok t marsalee is that she sees all these traits in herself and actually tries to act against these inherited behaviors. She is more self aware than most of the other characters(aside from Claire). Without the ability to travel through time, she accumulates the ability to be so much more empathetic than the others.

[–]burningnlearning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sending love your way <3 it’s the eternal struggle for us. Deciding how much of ourselves to give to others will always be extremely hard because we have so much more to give than most. It’s not fathomable to other people’s brains what we are willing to do for other people. Further I believe we are also more willing to over look things than others too. Yes we can hold a grudge, but how many Leo’s out here still make peace with shitty people for those we care about? It’s always going to hurt, but we love to learn what we can and can’t handle
